well, I have an i7, nvidia gtx 650m, 2.3GHZ laptop. it usually doesn't do this but recently it has. after maybe an hour or so, it has minor lag spikes in-game. any ideas?

What kind of i7?
Also how hot is your system running when the "lag spikes" occur?

| by lag spikes, do you mean fps drop or actual network lag? |

the hotter it gets, the worse the lag spikes are? it basically goes like normal walking, then slow, then normal again when I'm in game.

Pretty sure it's thermal throttling. When you run hot enough it lowers your performance to cool down in basic terms.

pretty sure it isn't connection because my wifi is 5 bars.. lol.
it's bothering when playing certain games like shooting games..

Get a PC Cooling System.
Most of them are pretty damn cheap for their performance |

Ok well you need to keep your computer cool and vented there are laptop coolers for desks you can use to prevent this also your ram is decent but you can add like 4 more sticks by a professional adding ram is the easiest thing to do but I suggest if you want more ask someone who knows what they're doing
your network seems fine

Yeah, it happens on literally all games. I used to play and it was completely fine, but recently it's been doing this? would a laptop cooling fan work? lol.

if you dont want to invest in a fan just get something to prop it up so it has airflow
