New defensive signing for my beloved NYCFC - one from Costa Rica & the other from River Plate.
Did I mention the overall #1 draft pick? My man Jack Harrison is gonna be the next Poku.
Then you have a stacked midfield with Pirlo, Lamps, Diskerud, Poku, Jacobson.. Oh my.
Lastly, is that lethal attacking force of Villa, Mullins, promising Khiry Shelton and Tony Taylor should be back from injury.
A miss of the playoffs is no doubt a failure of a season. Our new head coach should steer us there, however. |

| Your midfield is a mess, Pirlo and Lampard will keep NYCFC below the red line, Jacobson is a mediocre player, Harrison and Poku don't even play the same position, and your central defense is still a clusterf**k. Ethan White won't do anything to help that either. |

True, our CB's aren't the best position on the roster sheet but there's plenty of time for reinforcements. Hernandez has made plenty of mistakes last season, which screwed us over. I think we should've worked out a deal with Shay Facey to bring him back for another year.
As for the midfield, Pirlo can play as a CM, Lamps as an AM, and Diskerud usually was placed on the wings last season. Poku and Harrison most likely will both be on the bench, where Poku will play mostly as an attacker or an attacking mid. Harrison played as a winger for the majority of his games in college..

| Neither Pirlo or Lampard like to defend or track runners (and simply can't at this stage of their career) so I'm not sure how that's going to work out. There isn't as much time as you think as teams reported for preseason yesterday and the season starts in 6 weeks. If NYCFC wants to make the playoffs, they need to get rid of one or both of Lampard and Pirlo. |

@Camboo, that's where he excelled the most last season. He had I believe, 7 assists.. He is a playmaker, one who thinks about passing before shooting. I remember at least three times where he could have simply scored but passed it to a team mate instead.
You remember that goal he had against the Cosmos in the USOC? That was sexci xD |

| @Swag, I heard rumors that Pirlo was retiring at the end of the season. I read it on Blacher Report.. The problem is, we have too many players for one given position. |

I think most of the problem is the formation NYCFC plays combined with the microscopic field at Yankee Stadium along with the age and mindset of players like Lampard and Pirlo |

Exactly the problem.
We're entering our second season with little news or event on a stadium proposal.. Meanwhile, Orlandos is coming out next season. |

| I think any hope of NYCFC getting a stadium inside the city was dashed when Bloomberg left office |

Considering they didn't even qualify for the playoffs this season, I doubt they will progress next year.

Man, F the doubters in this thread. In MLS, anything can happen, NYCFC could pull a DCU and go from (near) worst to first. Even though San Jose's front office didn't make any big offseason splashes, I'm still excited about the upcoming season for MLS in general, the league is really improving and I love to see it. I think 2016 is where MLS should take it's next step in terms of ratings. 5 games on FOX's main channel this year should get 500,000 viewers in each of those games bare minimum. Ratings haven't been impressive for the league so...Let's get 'em up.
One of the things that I love about MLS is that every team is interesting, every team has their own homegrown signings, allocation money, draft picks, South American/European signings, DPs, etc. Despite being a San Jose fan, I honestly care more about a team like TFC that's making exciting splashes in the offseason, or LA Galaxy who is reshaping the roster. Heck, even Colorado interests me whether or not they get Tim Howard. |

Yes, and the Crew have just signed a young 23 year old Danish winger a few days ago..
There were two similar signings of young European talent coming into the league. If teams continue to add foreign youngsters to the league, in several years - were talking about a top 5-7 league. |
