AFC WILD CARD ROUND:
Chiefs @ Texans: chiefs have clearly been one of the hottest teams, and while the texans are a different team from week 1's bad loss, i still see the chiefs get their first playoff win in a while. [24-14] D. Hopkins - 104 yards 2 touchdowns, M. Peters - 2 yard INT return
Steelers @ Bengals: you could say that the steelers are lucky to be in here, but you have to admit that big ben and antonio brown are looking sharp despite the injuries. however, while mccarron is no dalton, he can definitely lead a good bengals offense and has shown that. steelers have been known to beat the bengals at paul brown, but this time around i think the bengals defense will stop them in crunch time to also get their first playoff win in a while. [31-24] A. Brown - 64 yard TD catch, A. Green - 67 yards, 1 TD
NFC WILD CARD ROUND:
Seahawks @ Vikings: we all know what happened when the 'hawks came to town a couple weeks ago. they demolished a good vike's team, 38-7. this time around though, the vikings are fresh off a huge division clinching win at green bay. while i still don't see the vikings getting this one due to lynch returning and lockette playing like a beast, it will be much closer, and will nevertheless be a good step for the vikings. [34-26] T. Lockett - 60 yard punt return, 40 yard punt return, A. Peterson - 110 rush yards, 1 TD
Packers @ Redskins: this game is intriguing. you have a quarterback on fire right now (cousins) and a rather cold quarterback (rodgers) right now. the pack has definitely seen better days on offense. the 'skins are fresh off a division title (bad division though), and the 'skins are back in the playoffs. it will be a back and forth game as both defenses aren't very great. however, i think redskin's high octane offense helps them beat the packers at home. aaron rodgers rebounds despite the loss. [38-30] R. Cobb - 30 yard catch, D. Jackson - 113 yards, 2 TD's
DIVISIONAL ROUND TBA

NFL DIVISIONAL -----
AFC DIVISIONAL ROUND:
Chiefs @ Pats: boy, the chiefs really dominated that one (30-0), but clearly the pats are a much different team than the texans. the pats, however, have been playing not so great as of late (in part due to injuries). meanwhile, the chiefs have been playing lights out. i'm gonna go bold here, and take the chiefs. why? because while maclin is out, the chiefs can catch you from any side. what do i mean? well, they can get through on defense (5 turnovers), offense (depth at running back, travis kelce), and special teams (kick return TD yesterday). the pats have a slew of talent, but also have a couple injuries they are dealing with it. anything can happen, though, and the pats are one of the best w/ tom brady. it will be a great game, but the chiefs will come out on top. [28-21] A.Smith 1 yard run TD, R. Gronkowski 40 yard TD
Steelers @ Broncos: steel city got a big break from yesterday, but this game all depends on if both brown and big ben are healthy enough to play well at mile high. if both are a go, then this could very well be a steelers win. meanwhile, denver went from nearly out of the playoffs to the first seed. woah. anyway, the turnover battle is also key in this game. the broncos can't afford to turn it over in the opposing side of the field every drive like last week. another factor is the defense. can denver's talented defense stop an otherwise high flying steel offense? maybe. but in the offense, manning is returning, and apparently that rejuvinated the denver offense. if that works out well, we may also see a denver win. i think denver will pull it off in another old fashioned shootout. [38-31] M. Bryant 60 yard REC TD, A. Talib 20 yard INT return
NFC DIVSIONAL ROUND:
Seahawks @ Panthers: the 'hawks also got a big break today, but this team is probably one of the only teams in the league to match up to the big boys, especially carolina. why? well, while the offense was stopped time and time again in the wildcard, seahawks still have a great offense. they have tremendous depth at the RB position as well. but what really matters is their defense, which has been one of the best since '12, and they showed that today. if they manage to stop a good cam newton, look for the 'hawks offense to fly. meanwhile, the panthers have been one of the most surprising teams in the league, expected to not even make the playoffs to the best record in the league, all without kelvin benjamin. greg olsen and superman have stepped up the biggest on offense, while on defense, all pro CB josh norman has stepped up big as well. ron rivera is a big candidate for coach of the year also. the panthers have a big opportunity to help their playoff run, while a win for the 'hawks solidifies them as a team that can beat anybody. if panthers want to win, they need to get their offense running quick against a top defense. if 'hawks want to win, they need to stop on defense and let the magic of wilson do the talking on offense. however, i think that the panthers will take this one in ANOTHER close match. [24-17] whoever is running 42 yard TD run, T.Ginn 4 drops
Packers @ Cardinals: rodgers looked like his old self in the convincing win over the 'Skins, but for them to beat the cards, they need to stop the high flying offense, which definitely isn't easy. we all know what happened a few weeks ago. the cards have great depth on every position, which is what makes them so good. the packers turned the tide on me and many others in predictions, but i still have a hard time thinking rodgers could lead the pack to a victory over the cardinals. i may be wrong though, but even that is unlikely. [34-20] R.Cobb 103 REC yards, C.Campbell 1 sack, 1 FB recovery

alright, here comes championship sunday!
PATRIOTS @ BRONCOS: boy, it's another brady vs manning match. will it be the last? we won't know yet. however, this is bound to be an exciting one. brady has his favorite weapons back, and is looking better than ever. meanwhile, manning leads his team to beat the steelers. will brady explode against a stingy defense, or will broncos once again prevail to make the super bowl? we won't know until tomorrow, and we will get to watch another legendary rivalry. however, this is my prediction thread, so i'm gonna give a prediction. pats will beat the broncos on the road to their second straight SB. [24-17] R.Gronkowski 90 yards, 1 TD, C. Anderson 50 yard TD run
CARDINALS @ PANTHERS: panthers silenced the doubters with a win over the seahawks. however, they need to stop giving up big leads. fortunately for them, none of them have resulted in losses. meanwhile, the cardinals are fresh off a rallying win over the packers. once again, however, if the cards are struggling against a heavily depleted packers WR core, we don't know what life will be like against the panthers. i've listed the flaws, now let's get to the positives. fitzgerald looks like he WANTS the ring the most on the team. meanwhile, cam newton looks determined every game with his enthusiasm. surprisingly, the stadium is covered in snow today. look for palmer to throw more deep shots as he does, and look for newton and the panthers to stay agressive. this'll be an exciting game as both are good in D and O. larry fitzgerald, i think, will once again come out on top in OT. [34-28] L.Fitzgerald 130 REC YRDS, 2 TD's , C.Newton 34 yard TD run

WELCOME TO SANTA CLARA FOLKS FOR THE 50TH SUPER BOWL!
Panthers vs Broncos:
Broncos season outlook: elway and the broncos beefed up the broncos D in the offseason, and it helped big time in the long run. this team went from nearly kicked out of playoff contention in week 16 to killing it in the postseason and making the SB. manning is back in the SB better than ever after returning in week 17 despite deteriorating arm/neck strength and father time showing. we all know that defenses win championships, and right now, the denver defense is putting the offense on its back, something that was completely the opposite 2 years ago. this team is definitely different from 2 years ago as well.
Panthers season outlook: most of us were completely, COMPLETELY wrong on our SB matchup predictions. in fact, not one analyst predicted the panthers to make the super bowl, moreso after its star WR was injured. how they were able to get to a 15-1 record and an SB appearance is way beyond me. anyway, newton is one of the best in the game right now, and he's a sure-fire MVP pick. norman is balling on the defensive side too, but the biggest thing about this team is its balance. this offense ran a league-high 46% (i think) run plays, but the panthers have been very successful getting big pass plays despite many no-names on the receiving side. on the defense, norman is playing lights out, and so is keuchly (not sure how to spell his name). kawann short is also playing great ball too.
__SCORE PREDICTION TBA__

and that's a wrap for the 2015-2016 NFL season, folks! 213 more days without football, and i went 0-3 in my final predictions. manning rides off into the sunset as one of the greatest ever with the huge SB win, even though it was mostly the denver's defense/von miller.
not to be a debby downer or anything, but, to be honest, most of us were completely wrong on our predictions all season, i'll admit that on behalf. for example, many never gave the 'skins a shot to win or go to the playoffs in their predictions. not one analyst i know of picked the panthers to even MAKE the super bowl or conference championship game. obviously, there were some other teams that disappointed this season that i will not disclose for personal reasons.
all in all, this was a strange season, but such is the power of probability. see you next season.
