It's not even that bad of an OS
It's perfectly fine and easy to use in my opinion
I have an old laptop from years ago and I wanted to show it show love so I'm using it right now and it has Windows Vista
It's perfectly fine, I don't think it deserved all the hate it got

They hate it because no one ever likes something new an innovative.
Also I think the release was rushed a bit.

Because it was released when people were fine with Windows XP on their Pentium 4 machines. There wasn't a huge drive to upgrade, and because upgrading to something as advanced as Vista at the time was a slight sacrifice to performance, people bashed the living hell out of it. Pair that with a really sluggish and buggy launch, and you have a controversial OS.
If you were to run it on some Core 2 Duo machine (or a more capable machine, of course), it would run Vista almost flawlessly. Sure, it's more bloated than Windows XP, but it's a sacrifice for all of the cool visual effects and features that it brought to the table. The story for Windows ME is a bit different, but it's a fine OS as well. |

| Windows ME was like a mix between Windows 2000 and Windows 98SE. It's completely-asinine to say that Windows ME is at Windows 2000's level of stability, but it's not as buggy as Windows 98SE. I also find it to be more compatible with peripherals than 98SE. Again, the only reason why Windows ME is shunned is because Microsoft disabled real-mode DOS, which made some older programs act a bit quirky. ME was also a let-down to the public because everyone had very high expectations for it, when it was just intended to be for the average computer user, not a power-user. |

| Windows Vista is the only good version of Windows that's still supported in my opinion. I tried to use 10 for a while but after a few months I ran back to Vista with open arms. |

| The only people who hate on Vista nowadays are bandwaggoning 12 year olds who don't know anything about operating systems. |

"Didn't it BSoD alot?" If anything, that was Windows 98SE. It was even more of a huge problem with Windows 95 and 98, due to how stubborn they act towards many drivers and devices. I've personally never had any issues with Windows ME. You'd only get some issues if you were using some really old programs, like I said. If you are running older programs and you don't need insane stability, go with Windows 98SE. If you're running newer programs and don't want crashes, go with Windows ME. |

"but Windows 7 is still supported"
Can't say I'm too fond of Windows 7, they removed dreamscene, lossless backgrounds, software explorer, and Windows sidebar. They also made the personalization panel a lot more complicated than it needed to be and hid a lot of useful things. I'd mention more of the great things they removed but I don't feel like typing anything really long right now. |

I don't really understand why people say one of the reasons Vista was disliked is because of the rushed release.
Windows 10 is the most rushed OS ever, with so many unfinished features, and so many stability issues, yet people praise it. |

| If Vista was released as it was in 2004, it would be even more of a trainwreck. In the year 2004, quite a bit of people were still using Windows 98SE with a Pentium III... |

So do you think Windows Vista was a good OS around the time where it came out? (The complete version after all the patches, since it was rushed)
Also what do you think was the worst Windows OS ever made?
And what's your least favourite that you've used?

Windows ME (because of my experience with it, plus I haven't used many Windows OSes)

"So do you think Windows Vista was a good OS around the time where it came out? (The complete version after all the patches, since it was rushed)" It was an absolutely great OS that was plagued by hardware-restrictions and bad timing. The difference between Windows Vista and Windows 7 is that Windows 7 is watered down. That's about it. That's also why it tends to run faster.
"Also what do you think was the worst Windows OS ever made?" Easily Windows 3.1, because it was a huge mess aesthetically and physically. Windows 95 really brought everything back on track.
"And what's your least favourite that you've used?" Windows 8 (not 8.1). Very bloated, disorienting, unnecessary, and buggy. I absolutely despise how it updates in the background unlike Windows 7 and Windows 10. You'll be doing something, then all of a sudden the fan speed increases and everything slows down. Open up the Task Manager and you'll see svchost.exe taking up almost 99% of the CPU, RAM and HDD power. This has all happened to me with a laptop, though. I haven't exactly tried a desktop with Windows 8, but I'd imagine it being a complete nightmare. |
