How would I move a part from one of its edges?

Use this plugin and open it. Look at the bottom of the plugin and you will see something called "Select Edge" then enter in the first box the amount of degrees you want to rotate.

Use welds! If you weld two parts together, you can use the C1 to set an offset. When you rotate the C0, the parts will rotate on that offset.
