Second song I've ever written. I worked on it months and months ago and never got around to finishing it. I'm not a serious musician or anything and this isn't top notch but I certainly did my best.
This song is pure guitar. I was going to add bass, but I decided to take it out. I made this in memory of my friend who passed away of cancer in September. Maybe you can relate.
I'm open arms to any kind of criticism. In other words, I won't get mad if you think it's terrible.

I'm not saying it's bad, but it's not something I'd listen to.
I honestly hate most guitar songs-they're just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring. |

Sounds really good!! Wow you're very talented if I had to say. I'd suggest putting some lyrics in possibly, you don't have to sing or anything if you don't want to, but maybe just some sort of simple poem to represent how much you cared for your friend. But I think it sounds really good! |

I appreciate the feedback.
I can't sing really. If I could I would, but I can't. |

| Nice song the guitar doing the one rift was nice but a bit repetitive for me and the other one was pretty good. Also if you cant sing you could always try being the next Fred Dust .-. |

Thanks for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it. I have just finished putting the song together again to try and take out some of that white noise in the background and adjust the levels of the lead and rhythm playing.
I know I can't sing, but if I want to, I can always pull an Axl Rose. |

No worries, I can see what you mean by repetitive. Like I said, I'm not a serious musician. This is the second song I've ever recorded. I plan on writing about 20 songs ranging from jazzy to bluegrassy.
This song is meant to be a thinking song, a song to make you reflect. I'm sorry, I wish I could add vocals to it as well. I can't sing though, I'm a one man band. I try to make music with what I've got. Hopefully I get a keyboard into the mix pretty soon so it won't all be strictly guitar. |

I understand you there. I am the same way, but in a different genre. It's hard to write metal without drums or a bass player.

I would love to, as well as find some program to add ambient sounds to my songs. I added a backwards track to the one in the OP. It's faded in the background, but it's to give the song a haunting effect.
I don't have any money to blow on any expensive program. I only have Audacity but it would be nice to have some other suggestions. |

Loyal2 I feel you on the metal thing lol the only bass player/other guitarist I know into metal only wants to do Warp Tour style and Death metal (Nothing against the two I just find it very boring to play). It's pretty hard to make metal songs alone I'm usually down to the option of just recording one part and trying to come up with the next while listening to it or attempting to use a Guitar Pro Demo.
(Also I understand you got to do what you got to do but I personally think real drums will always sound better than a drum machine) |

Very true, Data. I live in a relatively small town. Nobody seems to enjoy my styles of music, and the few people who do can't play an instrument, and aren't willing to learn.
Ha, maybe I should move closer to you. |

What do you use to record?
I was twenty minutes late for a Sunn O))) concert. I missed the first note. |
