i7 6820HK (2.7 GHz) [ Note, I will overclock this ]
1 TB HDD 256 GB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M SLI 8 GB GDDR5
18.4" FHD Wide View Non Reflection 1920 x 1080
24 GB Memory

It's the MSI GT80S. Good choice in laptop? I need something that provides extreme support for High Graphics(high framerate), enough space to store all my games(the SSD will be for loading the OS/programs, the HDD will be to load all of the games), and enough memory(CPU RAM and VRAM) to be able to process everything with excess.

Apparently it also comes with, "Super Raid 4" which should decrease loading times.

Is it good? Yes
For the price? It's like $3,000+ , It's a horrible price per performance ratio.

Sorry, I was out at dinner.

It is $3499 MSRP. I have saved up the money for it. It's what I've wanted for a while, I need a mobile gaming station that doesn't stink. I want something that's as good as or better than a gaming rig

From what I hear, 2 GTX 980M's are much better FPS wise than 1 GTX 980. I am going for space I can store my games on(the 256 SSD and the 1 TB HDD), plus more than enough to run the games on high/ultra high.

It is not a waste of money for me, it is a well spent investment(I am getting full spills/drop/stolen warrantee with it).

For something I can carry around, it's great. I hear it is very noisy, however it will not overheat due to the fact that it has like 3 or 4 cooling fans in it. It is around 11 pounds.

Much better than carrying around a gaming rig and a monitor/keyboard/mouse. No?

Also remember that it's next to impossible to build a laptop from scratch. Very few people have done this.

The closest thing I could do would be to completely gut out my computer, replace every component(including the motherboard), and find the best components I can get whilst being able to ACTUALLY fit them inside the casing without error. I'd have to resotter the USB ports, HDMI ports, 5.2mm jack(although some of these are in one area, some are on other sides of the computer)

It'd be a mess and horribly expensive to find the exact parts I need that would fit.

My current laptop is a Lenovo Y500 that I bought back in 2012/13. It's around 4 years old, and I would have to replace all the components to get the newer ones to be compatible.

For example, my RAM is DDR3. The RAM on the newer MSi computer I'm ordering is DDR5. Other similar issues follow, such as the CPU being a 3rd generation i7(and the MSi model is going to have a 6th generation CPU).

Technology advances kinda quick, and unless you have an actual gaming rig with a custom case(most gamers have rigs with custom cases), then it's better to invest in another computer that will last you at least another 4-6, maybe 10
years.

Please don't overclock. I'm pretty sure that will boost clock by itself when needed which is completely safe. Whatever you do, do not overclock on air and especially on a laptop.

Yeah, overclocking miiiiiiiight not be the best idea

Maybe as a side project, however I'm going to use extra precautions so I don't fry my motherboard/components.

That would be a drag, although I do have warranty on it.

However I am making my own rig after this, and overclocking that would be safer.

I am new to building/working with mid/high range computers, however I have done a lot of research on it.

SLI Doesn't stack so if you think you need heaps of V ram get a titan x for god sake.
and you need to tell us what sort of games ur playing to give people a better idea of how it'd cope. Hell a gtx 980 ti is more reliable, cause you dont want to be bottlenecking with those stats, and try to custom build it.
By the way that i7 is useless, for gaming, honestly get an i5 4690k with good cooling and you'd be fine, or if you have the money the i5 6600k like me, honestly a laptop is good but 24gb of ram is overkill and useless if ur gonna be gaming, hell, 16 gb is great, once again unless ur editing videos/rendering stuff at a proffesional level, that 24 gb ram is useless, and you didn't tell us what the mhz speed was...
the ssd and hdd are good, but honestly, a desktop is better.
Desktop
-24" monitor (1ms response time)
-16 gb 2400mhz ram
-gtx 980 ti
-i5 6600k at 4.0ghz+
-1000 watt 80+ gold power supply
-corsair cooling etc
-decent case (vented and how you like it)
I can run games at 4k ultra and still be fine.
Let alone 1080-1440p.
GTA V Gets 80 FPS, let alone games like CoD/CSGO/Battlefield were i get like 300 fps for csgo and 150 fps for battlefield 4. But it's up too you, you have a great option to get more for your buck my friend, and a 2.7ghz cpu and 24gb ram will not help you for gaming as much as you think, Anyways ur choice, No pressure.. A Computers a computer, but its wether they can run what you want or not.
