Hey yall,
Recently I switched my game from NFL to NCAA QB ratings just to test it out. The systems are very similar, the both rate based on the following factors:
1. Completions-per-attempt (completion percentage) 2. Yards-per-attempt 3. Interceptions-per-attempt 4. Touchdowns-per-attempt
The big difference is that NFL QB ratings cap off all of the values whereas NCAA does not. This means that a QB with a 75% completion percentage will be given the same amount as someone with a 98% completion percentage.
A perfect NCAA QB Rating is: 1270
To get a 1270 in 10 passes a QB would need to be at least: 10/10 1000 yards 10 TDs 0 Ints
A perfect NFL QB Rating is: 158.3
To get a 158.3 in 10 passes a QB would need to be at least: 8/10 125 yards 2 TDs 0 Ints
So there is an obvious difference.
After this switch the global leaderboard was effected greatly. Note that the global leaderboard combines both the QB rating as well as the completions/attempts to make sure nobody who threw 5 perfect passes gets put as #1. It used to be yards but that was discarded.

After posting this I realized I made a huge mistake. I accidently added the int ratio instead of subtracting it which caused all the weird jumps, lol. Here's the actual updated rankings:

| I like the NCAA version better to an extent. Although I believe total yards should be factored in a little bit more (if that's possible). In my opinion, I can sway either way. |

With QB Ratings factored to an extent, I would say that its not a bad idea. Being that those on Global hold the most yards, it'd be better to put in the most yards gained per attempt and etc.
Also, if possible, User IDs should be recognized when doing statistics so that incase a person may change their name or so, the leaderboard can ping their ID and rename (the username). |

@KillKay
Agreed, but I can't really do that atm for the current game without reseting everyones stats and that would cause an uproar.
I can see some pros and cons with both tbh. While NCAA does help differ more precisely between the skills of players, but it seems to only reward big plays. For example if your QBR is very high for the game and you get deep in the redzone and throw a 2 yard TD pass it will more likely than not actually HURT your QB rating because it will drop your yards per attempt.
Things like that should be taken into consideration as well. Players who play smart and don't always throw to the deepest guy regardless of coverage seem to get punished as well. I just had a game where I threw 13/16 for 5 TDs and 350 yards however almost every pass my QB Rating went down because not all of my throws were 50+ yards.
Whenever we get deep into stats and stuff like that I will probably still use these QB ratings just because they're familiar but I'll also look into making my own sort of QB analysis ( and other positions if that goes well ).

| I see the pros of it to like say you've got 100k passing yards yea but it needs to average it out by all the ints, safteys, sacks and total number of passes but a con is say you don't play alot or just started and your way behind everyone else; if you throw 150 passes and have 145 completed and your only at like 6k yards passing yards it would suck because if you have that Throw/Completion you'd probably be one of the most dangerous Quarterbacks out there but your stats would be to low so it would kinda base off of everything not just if you have 200k passing... |

nfl pls [2]
Maybe I'm just biased to the old one, I don't know. Just seems weird using NCAA QBR. Like in a forum post you made regarding change (about the Football Heroes game), maybe I just don't feel comfortable with the new change yet. Like you said, my only problem is that you get punished for passing short when you normally pass deep.

Agreed with Perry
I liked NFL better, these new ratings don't see to reward short passes and rather reward straight luck bombs end zone to end zone. But it's whatever being Global doesn't really matter that much. |

First of the QBR from NCAA and NFL have no difference, The QBR is higher in NCAA due to the mass amount of attempts completions and yards.
Secondly: you need to realize that your game is declining in Numbers and Profit over the past 3 Months. Yea FH3 Will be a little bigger have a lot of people playing but that crap don't last for ever.
When you can realize that contact me, I'll Commish a League so you can actually go from 200 to Thousands of people per game. |

| I agree with that. I have had games where I throw near 100% but I play smart instead of lobbing it up every play. The result is a 200 QBR while someone who throws a couple long passes for tds seems to be better than me according to statistics. |
