We will be comparing two popular rappers: Fetty Wap from America and Sido from Germany
We will be comparing their most popular songs: Fetty Wap's Trap Queen and Sido's Astronaut
Both songs were top ten on Billboard hot 100 for atleast one week in their respective countries.

Trap Queen - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_kF4zLNKio

Astronaut - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPFLAjmWCtk&list=PLPRmepzteDC5xWg8q-9Fwggbg67tbSF27&pxtry=3

Trap Queen analysis:
Fetty Wap talks about he interacts with his "trap queen" or his woman that handles his drugs. He talks about his love for money and drugs and objectifies women.

Astronaut analysis:
Sido brings up important issues in today's modern world. He discusses conflicts of the world and compares the worlds path as astronaut slowly leaving the world he knew.

These are both very brief analysises, however it brings up the issue of what American rap lacks: tasteful and meaningful lyrics/themes.

he also sucks

you're judging a genre by using artists that are a product instead of art

fetty wap is basically like a box of kleenex

Good point; I see your point clearly but music is subjective and some people like lyrics focused on different things.

That's what I was saying. I care about lyrics, but the majority of people in America just want fun music that they can do dumb dances to because it's fun. That's just how it is. I don't see anything wrong with that. I disagree with materialism a lot but everyone is entitled to their opinion about life

Ok I thought you were saying you enjoy that. I think it is ok to have stupid stuff just for fun, but not when it runs the charts like it does in America.

"he's accessible, catchy, easy listening music"
exactly my point.

Bro, I don't even know any rap songs, but this argument is invalid.
You can't judge a whole group of people based on one dude.

Go rant somewhere else.

It's popular cause it's catchy. Put it this way, lots of Americans like to party, or chill, so that kind of Rap will catch peoples eye. Conscious Rap like J Cole is still POPULAR, but it's not as popular because it's not something that is for social gatherings. Well some of his songs are of course but yea.

and yet you don't care to explain why my opinions are bad, effectively adding nothing to the conversation but your petty little buzz words

I said they are both terrible, I don't need to explain why. Fetty Wap is one of the worst choices to represent American Rap, atleast choose someone with talent like Kendrick Lamar. Also, German rap is pretty bad as a genre, German metal is x100 better.
