Even though I blatantly said I wasn't going to make the full RP, here I am, doing exactly that. Anyway, a big thanks to Tim and Pick for their roles in the creation of this.
Table of Contents 1) The Invasion 2) The World 3) Factions 4) Rules 5) CS 6) Admins & Credits
1) The Invasion (1
On March 5th, 2016, citizens of Earth are greeted by the unexpected arrival of alien life. As citizens of Tokyo watched the skies above, a massive object large enough to cast the entire city in shadow docks above the city, laying domant for the next several months with no sign of activity resonating from within. October 16th, 2016, two more similar objects appear above the skies of New York and Dubai, being accompanied by more of these mysterious objects over the course of the remaining year. January of 2017, a total of eighteen unidentified objects hover above the largest cities and hubs of Earth, still showing no signs of activity. May 12th, 2017, all eighteen objects begin firing massive rays of light into the surface, instantly destroying anything it came in contact with, thus sparking what was coined as 'The Invasion'. Although fighting back with tooth and nail, by 2018, there are no longer any major forms of government surviving. Through the course of the following year, the aliens begin leaving their ships and sending soldiers onto the surface, quickly eliminating large patches of surviving communities. Now, the year is 2019, two years after The Invasion, and while most of the massive ships have left Earth's surface, their crews still remain.
2) The World (2
The primal destruction and brutality the Invaders brought to Earth's cities were not the only apparent signs of the planet's decay. After the initial wave of destruction, the Invaders began drilling the planet of any and all valuable resources, literally draining the color of life away. While slow at first, two years of unfaltering sacking has left the planet more brown than green, as even Earth's oceans have begun to receed, now lying nearly thirty miles further from original shorelines. Anything the Invaders had no use for, they simply burned and destroyed, to make sure whatever was left of humanity could find no use for it either. With the surface blanketed with sheer amounts of ash, denizens of the planet are sometimes harshly treated to what is commonly known as 'Winters of Ash', in which a mighty gust of wind manages to sweep up dangerously thick blankets of ash and carry it for miles on end. While some active hubs of Earth have built protection against these ash storms, many smaller settlements are not treated to such luxerious.
3) Factions (3
Invaders: Large, nearly stereotypically insectoid, invaders from an unknown planet. Very little is known about them as very few people who have seen them can tell the story, and those who can panicked too much to focus on their appearance. Regardless, it is known that they are significantly more technologically advanced than humans, and every former world capital, major city and so forth has been claimed by the aliens as a base of sorts. Tokyo, New York and Dubai were the first to fall to them, and have the largest of their bases, although pretty much all cities with populations formerly larger than a million are ruled by them. One thing that people do know about the Invaders, though, is that you are safe under the cover of Daylight.
The Republic of Győr: Formerly a small city in Hungary with a population barely managing to attain six digits, in the few years following the invasion thousands of survivors from all over Eastern Europe, often as far away as the Caucasus, arrived in Győr and greatly swelled it's population to slightly over half a million. Likely one of the most successful governments since the Invasion and the largest centralized governmental body anywhere to remain standing (most people fled any city with a sizeable population), the people of Győr live every day in constant fear of Invasion. They have on several occasions attempted to send a diplomat to nearby outposts such as Budapest to see if they could try to ensure the survival of their city, but so far all the diplomats keep returning without so much as a scratch.
British Motorist Infantry: A largely nomadic network of smaller gangs operating all over the British Isles, they've become the de facto daytime government of said Isles and are often as much of a threat as the Invaders. Everyone who is formally a member of their Gang are tattooed and pierced all over, and as the name suggests, has advance knowledge of auto maintance. The gang as a whole currently has a large supply of motorbikes and small-craft vehicles that help them maintain hold of the British Isles.
Silicon Valley Society: Nerds all over the world who are smart enough to know how to build AM radios are generally part of what's called the "Silicon Valley Society", and it's the main reason that someone in Western Florida would know about Győr still managing to remain. There's no centralized government or even official requirements to join, just so long as you have access to an AM Radio. It's unknown where it originated, although it's suspected by some to be Sunnyvale, California, hence the name.
Sea Wolves: Plaguing the Mediterranean Sea are an organization of several dozen boats known as the Sea Wolves, who switch between ferry drivers and pirates attacking non-affiliated boats. They charge a high price for entry onto their boats and transportation, but if you have a good reason and the blessing of the New Pope (see below), they'll have no problem with you going for free. However, as the seas are being drained, so to is their area of influence.
New Papacy: The Pope and all the Cardinals were in Rome at the time of the Invasion, and none of them made it out alive. The New Papacy is one of many splinter groups to emerge from the fall of Rome, led by Pope Peter II (formerly just another Catholic priest in Rome) and his cardinals. They are the most universally reconized Catholic Church, and they operate out of the otherwise almost completely deserted city of Parma, Italy. The New Pope and his Cardinals are all members of the Silicon Valley Society, and they work tirelessly to bring the word of God to the people of the world and to try to encourage more cooperation between different surviving factions, while at the same time showing their hypocrisy by advocating the destruction of those who claim to follow other organizations claiming to be the successor to Catholocism.
Other Factions: There are hundreds of other factions in the world, although the Punk Biker Gang, Sea Wolves and New Papacy are typical of most of the rest. Note that The Republic of Győr is not typical of remaining factions in it's magnitude, although there are likely two or three similar, if significantly smaller, human cities/towns akin to Győr per continent. If you want to write your own faction there's info on how to do that in the CS.
4) Rules (4
1) You must be a human without alien technology. 2) You do not need to associate yourself with a faction if you don't want to. 3) Regular RP rules apply such as not being overpowered 4) Listen to the admins 5) Rules are subject to change if the admins want to change them at any time. 6) If you can find an apolyptic message hidden under my description of the New Papacy, you'll become an admin. This is a one-time offer, and only applicable to people that I don't hate. (I guess PM Tim on this one?) 7) In the CS, information in parenthesis is to be removed before you post the CS, please. It's just for clarification. 8) There's no internet. I just thought I'd make that clear. The Invaders destroyed all the cables that do the internet thing.

(Porpoisely character accepted, faction maybe. While not targeted at first due to lack of threat, once the Invaders realize a hungry human will eat just about any animal they began wiping them out as well. Various birds are the only exception, due that they can disappear quickly over the horizon.) (That being said, if you want to primarily use birds, such as leaving carcasses lying around hostile areas to then unleash infected vultures, or using flight patterns to determine Invader movements, then that is acceptable. Animals aren't all extinct, but a majority of them would be classified as endangered, if such classifications were still around.) |

(Faction accepted; Not really required to make a sheet, being part of a primary one, but it would only help if you'd like to tell how someone would tell apart a member of the North West Mini Owners Club branch from other branches of the British Motorist Infantry. Particular vehicle [I imagine the Mini Coopers?] or color scheme.) (The char is mainly accepted, though the weapon is bizarre to me. Not a gun nut, but a Famas with a front drum mag is very hard for me to picture. May I suggest the classic Thompson M1A1? Though, maybe a different model, because I don't think that particular one accepts drum mags?) |

(Like I said, mainly, but not. That weapon was bizarre to me in several ways; I did end up learning a little bit being forced to keep AGE accurate, haha. As for being a cliche, meh, not really my place to worry; Let stereotypical be stereotypical as far as I'm concerned, eh?) (Although, Tim did put a lot of time into his sections, so I should require each section of the CS to be filled, if only briefly and to the point. Thus, I'm going to make that a requirement.) |
