Intro:
For nearly two decades, peace has filled the land of Varnon as King Thorudon has kept the northern of southern realms at bay with successful trade and bargaining. This peace, however, had come at a great cost to the kingdom's wealthy.
A civil war spread across Varnon early in the age of 1138 as leaders of noble and wealthy houses amassed armies, led by Lord Drakthir of Jarkovin. Without the resources to fund a larger loyalisy military, King Thorudon was dethroned after six bloody months, leading to Lord Drakthir into becoming King Drakthir.
Though Drakthir kept his promise of a wealthy Varnon, it was heavily paid for in human lives. For the past two years, King Drakthir has waged bloody war against the northern and southern kingdoms to reclaim lost riches.
After two years of Drakthir's reign, a rebellion movement begins to spring up in Varnon, rumored to be led by many of the late King Thorudon's advisers and staff. As a Varnon citizen who has personally lost loved ones to Drakthir's war, it is no surprise that you found yourself working with Redemption's Hammer, as the rebellion force had called itself.
The year is now 1142, and after years of training with Redemption's Hammer, you are entrusted with the task of assassinating Havar Kirn, a high ranking general of Drakthir's military. It's shortly after infiltrating Havar's personal keep, however, that you soon find yourself captured and throw into a dungeon cell.
For nearly a week now, you have sat in darkness, simply awaiting the day of what must be your execution. The only source of interaction available came from the dungeon guard stopping by daily to give you stale bread and a small mug of water, only to then leave without a word to let you rot once more in the dark.
Character: Name: Arnott Ingir Age: 30 Gender: M Combat Style: Melee Bio: Arnott was born as a peasant in a lowly village. The village was always nice and cozy, it was known for being quite a serene scene. Never has anyone in the village become a warrior, nor has wanted to. Arnott was the same as all of them. He grew as a quite peaceful lad with the rest of the village's youth, he had a peaceful life back then. His village was never been attacked during the time of Arnott's childhood, nor has it ever been.
Arnott has always wanted to leave the village to explore and learn of the world. He has always just wanted to escape from the peace to see the world, he felt that the peace had become drab in his village. When Arnott came of age, he finally left the village in hopes of excitement. He bid his goodbyes to the villagers and his family. Finally, he was able to explore the world of excitement. He traveled for a total of four years. Afterwards, he finally returned to his village.
The village, the village that Arnott once called his home, was gone. The buildings were on fire, corpses were everywhere, Arnott could still hear the screams. Arnott tried to search for survivors, but, there were none. He was completely shocked. He thought about how this could've happened. This event led Arnott to search for the marauders. Eventually, Arnott was able to trail a sign toward the marauders. He eventually caught up to them, he tried to fight against them, but to no avail.
He was left for dead in the middle of the road, since then, Arnott has gotten them out of his mind. After a while, he was able to drag himself to the nearest village and recover. He decided that it was time to become a warrior. It was time to break his peace. During his travels, he has heard of a Redemtion's Hammer, so he sought out to seek Hammer to train with. With a bit of persuasion, Arnott was able to train with Hammer. With that, we have caught up to the story.
As you sat in darkness, wondering when your next meal would come, you hear a door off in the distance loudly open. Following a series of footsteps, the door to your cell is opened to reveal a shadowy figure, who then steps into the room to join you. Two soldiers quickly bring in a table and two chairs, which the first man then sits at. "So this is the unexpected guest? By the gods, he looks half dead; bring him something edible, maybe some lamb?" The soldiers nod and rush off, leaving the man to look over at you. "Please, let us at least be civil. Sit, sit. You are a guest in my home, after all." |

| I looked up toward the man to see who he is and tried to get up. The dank dungeon seemed quite drab, now that I think about it. The man seemed to quite kind, so I went up and sat in the chair. Then, I thought, was he my target? It's been a while since I've remembered the face of the man I was hired to kill. I sat in the chair and looked at the man trying to to remember what Havar Kirn and looked like. |

Sitting at the chair, the chains of your wrist and ankle shackles jingle loudly as you move. For a long moment, the man stares at you silently, appearing to be studying you. His stare was only broken by a guard returning with a large platter of food.
"Do you expect him to eat withwith shackles on his hands?" He asked as the guard attempted to leave, then undoing your wrist restraints before heading for the door. "Wait outside."
Looking back at you, the man nodded towards the food. "Go ahead, you must be starved. Let's start with a simple introduction; I think you know who I am, so why don't you tell me who the bloody hell you are?" |

I look at him from across the table. So, he was Havar. I expected a bit more from him, seeing that he was the target of an assassination. For a man that worked under Lord Drakthir, I expected much more. With that in mind, I examined him a bit more, trying to see what he trying to get here.
I saw that there was no real point in lying to him, "Arnott Ingir, at your service." I put a light grin on my face. |

Havar nods slightly, an obvious look of disdain growing on his face as you grinned. After a moment, he scratched at his chin with another nod.
"Ingir... interesting name. You're not Varnan, are you?" He asked you suddenly. "Buvakkan? Selarran? Spit it out." He demands, a fist slamming heavily against the table.
"No... no, they would target King Drakthir before myself... Though, I guess not if you're here, eh Arnott? So, who sent you?" |

I look at him with a sharp smirk on my face. "Ha, you really expect me to just tell you right away? I expected a bit more from you." With that, I let out a small chuckle, this man was really not quite of what I expected.
"I would've thought you knew better." |

Havar glares at you before uttering a short snarl, followed by a sigh as he clapped his hands, then reaching into his waist.
"And here I thought we could be civil." He said, pulling out a large butcher's knife as two guards armed with crossbows entered the room. "This next question is rather easy; Left or right?" Havar asks, quickly throwing aside the platter of food as he motioned for your hand. "Ohh, don't be shy, I won't take the whole thing away from you. Not at first." |

"Well..." I looked around in search of something that could help me. This was escalating quickly, I needed to find a way out before I lost a limb. But first, I needed a way to get some more time. I tried to think of some sort of interesting information.
"Is there the possible option of neither? Perhaps I could interest you with some other details?" |

Looking around bore no fruit, as having the shackles around your legs still rendered you slow to move; Much to slowly for either of the two guards aiming intently at you. As you spoke, Havar raised an eyebrow and stabbed the blade into the table, keeping his hand tight on the handle.
"Oh? Go on." He said. As Havar sat back, there was a solid knock on the door. Looking back at the guards, Havar motioned for one of them to unbar and open the room.
"Two bodies have been found, sir. Precision stab wounds." The new arrival announced, bringing another snarl from Havar.
"Find the murderer. No doubt they're here for him." He says, looking at you with a slight grin. "Seems like we've got a long night ahead of us." |

Hearing the news, I became somewhat relieved. I looked at looked at my shackles and chains for any sort of a weak link that could be possibly be broken.
I tried to think of some details that I could give to Havar, details that would lead him to a dead end. "Perhaps the details on why you were chosen to be killed before Drakthir? Would that be any good? It seemed you were curious about that earlier, were you not? |

With a quick shake of his head, he pulled the knife from the table and place it onto his lap, looking at you with a rather grim stare.
"No, not anymore. Now, I want to know who your plus one is, or you get a bolt between the eyes." He explained, looking back over his shoulder at the remaining guard in the room. "Simple, right? Tell me who's here, and I'll leave this room." |

"Well..." I tried to think of who could be coming for me. Who did they send to come and get me? I would've thought that they would have more faith in me than this. I just needed some more time. "I don't know who they sent, okay?"
Just who did they send? |

"Give me an idea. A faction, a nationality, bloody something useful. Or would you prefer we kill you and question your friend, instead?" Havar demands, clearly growing impatient as he began slapping the butcher blade against his open palm.
"Who sent you here to kill me?" he asks, snapping a finger over at the guard who, in turn, stood straighter and pointed the crossbow at you, bolt shining in the dim candle light as if staring hungrily at you. |

"Alright, alright. I have been working with the people from the neighboring kingdoms." I lied, hoping they wouldn't know. I looked over at Havar as I said it. "I just don't know who they're sending. Okay?"
I looked over at one of the guards. I tried to stare him down, trying to find any weak points. |

Havar gave you a rather surprised look as you answered, leaning forward to look at you more closely for a moment. "Kingdoms? Plural?" he asks, somewhat skeptically. After a moment of silence, he looks back at the guard before returning his gaze to you, although a slight look of worry seeming to appear on his face. "Are you implying that Buvakka and Selar are plotting against us from both sides?" |

"Why wouldn't they? Just look at the wealth that Drakthir has accumulated." I say, trying to invigorate a war between the nations. The rebellion could benefit from the war. "Who wouldn't want a piece of all of it?"
I look back at Havar as I say all of this, waiting for a moment of distraction. |

(War's actually going on at the moment, though Drakthir is the invading force in the situation. He's sacking and reclaiming lands Thorudon had given up to the nations for terms of peace.)
"Buvakka and Selar forging an alliance... How could they slip through Varnon without us seeing supply lines." Havar begins to mumble, more to himself than anything as he looks off for a moment. As a loud knock comes to the door, he is jerked back to attention and smiles widely at you.
"See, you can be helpful." he said, sheathing the blade at his waist as he turned slightly.
"Perpetrator has been slain, the corpse ready for your inspection." a voice calls from outside.
Havar nods at the guard and turns back to you with an even more vile grin of satisfaction on his face. "You Buvakkan spies are awful at this." |

(Oh, I see it now. Whoops. Sorry.)
I get up from my seat, anticipating the body. I was curious, who did they send to come and get me? Although, I was curious about a second thing too.
"So, now what are you going to do with me? I'm no use to you now." |

(All good mate)
"I'm sure we'll find something more to pry out of you." he said, then turning to watch the door open.
Much to his surprise, as well as to the surprise of the guardsman, the door opened to reveal a cloaked man holding a fully necked longbow, quickly releasing the shot into Havar's leg. The cloaked figure then pulls out a second arrow from his quiver and quickly thrusts the arrowhead into the guardsman's chest, a second and third soon accompanying it.
As the guardsmen held still, the figure lowered his hood to reveal a short set of hair and jet black beard to match. He then walked over to Havar, who was struggling to crawl away while clutching his leg. "This Havar?" he asks, looking over at you for a moment before quickly loading another arrow onto his bowstring and finishing the man, not even bothering to wait for an answer.
After inspecting the body, the man walks over to you and struggles for a moment before undoing your ankle constraints. "You alright? You tell him anything? Well, no, I guess he doesn't matter anymore. Did anyone else interrogate you? Who? What'd you tell them?" he begins quickly rattling off. |

"No, he was the only guy." I say, while looking at the man to see who he was. This was the man they sent for me? "I didn't say anything, not anything useful, anyway."
All I wanted right now was to get out. |
