it's saying I've exceeded my recommended settings for my GPU when it's only using 240MB VRAM. it has me locked on 800x640 and won't let me change ANY texture settings, they're locked. says I can't run the game with my system
except here's the funny thing.. I run GTA V on high settings at over 80fps |

| You computer was not mean't to run GTA IV unless you upgrade and Build a PC . I highly recommend to get a Nvidia GTX 750Ti at Newegg unless you ask your parent's permission or You build a PC. You can find tutorials on YouTube , if you need to build a gaming rig. |

I Own GTA IV and I still don't Download it from Steam. The Paid Version barely works. Well... try the commandline thingies. This will fix the resolution thing Google it for More Information

@King
Did you miss the part where I said I run GTA V on high settings? I can even run it maxed, but I get like 40 FPS and I don't like that. |

that's because GTA IV has bad optimization
I do know fixes for your problems though, but you probably can't max out the game at a stable 60 FPS |

| You're best off searching Google for solutions to this, or go to the LTT forums and provide info/screenshots about your problem and wait for someone to reply. |

@Forever21 I said to run GTA IV at 1080P at Medium setting .
I would agree GTA VI instead GTA VI because it have the better interface and feature too , also outdated API , old Hardware and overload Ram might cause a problem. Make sure it's running currently , and your resolution locked because of your montior. |

You have to put something like -nolimits in the launch options in steam.

Wait no, go to properties, set launch options, and put these two in.
-nomemrestrict -norestrictions
That's what fixed it for me.

@Norrvakt
Thanks, but I face larger issues now.
It turns out you need to register your steam product code through a third party website, and then DOWNLOAD their third party client, games for windows live. However, GFWL client automatically downloads to my SSD and won't detect games on my HDD and I don't know how to fix this.
Basically what this means is that I will never be able to save the game in story mode.
Catboy said there's a fix but even so, this is way too much hassle to play a game that isn't even very outdated. |
