| you could do better than a pentium and 750ti with 500 bucks. unless we're counting os cost, of course. |

| Yeah, Pentium G3258 and 750Ti setup is great for the price point. However, if you want something really cheap, go with the LGA775 CPU days. Still not that bad. |

If you have peripherals already you might be able to spend $500 on the tower itself, GTX 950 and FX 6300 in that situation.
All depends on how many parts you already got.

If you want cheap but very potential, this is a great build (just picked it out):
CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor ($66.99 @ SuperBiiz) Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($45.89 @ OutletPC) Memory: Crucial 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($30.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.98 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Asus Radeon R7 360 2GB Video Card ($116.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: Xion XON-310_BK MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($22.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: SeaSonic 350W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($42.99 @ SuperBiiz) Total: $376.82
I know I'm overusing the 3xx series of graphics cards, but they're at a very good price point right now. |

| BTW, I use SeaSonic for a reason. Just because every PSU they make is rock-solid and highly reliable IMO. |

| By the way, I don't know why I chose the Athlon for the first one. An 8320 would be much more suitable. |

"alienware steam machine is good" NEVER use "Alienware" and "good" in the same sentence. |
