a world where people are good to each other because they want to be
or a world where people are good to each other because they fear divine punishment (i.e. going to an underworld because they were not good enough)
both choices are irrelevant in today's society because we have a mix, but im just curious about other's opinions

because they want to be
just seems more "right" in my eyes. |

I want to be good to others, and will do almost anything for that unless they have something against me. I am also a better person in real life than on here.

my choices seemed biased
let me rephrase
A world where people are good based on moral beliefs
or a world where people are forced into a moral belief because of divine punishment.
the second option would result in more good people
yet the first option seems better because it is of our own accord

| They want to, because if the everyone was scared of punishment if someone did something bad, then a riot could happen and there goes global wars and the military (if one was to still exist) would not be prepared. |

if im catching on to what you are saying correctly wouldnt the right choices be
A world where people determine for themselves how to be good and to be good
or a place where people are introduced to morals from something other than their own brain. |

im asking which is better, weighing the pros and the cons, if it boils down to only one way of life or the other.
this post is mainly just curiosity rather than a rant about how aethism is better or vise versa.
there is no "right" choice in this situation
i dunno, it's almost midnight and i have school tomorrow

people should choose there is a lot more power in the good deeds someone does when they choose to do it over just fearing the worst and doing it for personal gain in the future

| but since I know this is a religous conversation in hiding im offering a more fair argument, as truly religous people dont have to be good people, but they are introduced to morals that they for the most part use, on the other side other people who dont believe usually create their own morals which sometimes turn out good, and sometimes turn out bad. |

I neither confirm nor deny that this is a religious conversation in hiding to avoid persecution in the form of being content deleted.
but I do like to see the pros and cons being discussed
Here's a thought: what if exposure to forced morals sends them farther back down an evil path, rather than natural moral creation?
sorry, I'll try and come up with better posts tomorrow just some brain food for tonight ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

alright dont admit it is
but lets say for the sake of my comment it is, and because of that I dont believe that religous people are forced to have good morals, but they are given what to do IF they want to become a contributing member of society
now in your way of putting it, obviously we want people doing it out of good will, but the latter option is expressed in the wrong way, at least in my opinion |
