I haven't gotten any help from the other forum sections thus far and I'm impatient so oh well - I'll just put this here as well:
Hey there; I've gotten back to using Studio as of late.
However, I've got a problem with my framerate dropping - lag happening whenever I rotate my camera in studio (right-click and move mouse to look around). This doesn't happen when I simply move the camera (i.e use WASD or directional keys to move it), only when I turn it.
Do you guys know what the issue has to do with and if there's a way to fix it? I haven't had this problem before and it happens even with places that barely have any bricks and it's independent of how high or low my graphics settings are.
Thanks for any help in advance! |

instructions on how to fix operating tomatoes please
No, but seriously. It shouldn't be a processing problem considering it's independent of brick amount and graphics level. |

I'll do it as soon as I'm capable to - my computer is updating and it's taking quite a while apparently.
There isn't much to see anyhow - just whenever you rotate using right-click it's a lag similar to when you try to for example move the whole game's bricks by dragging it with the mouse. |

| is your game big? if it is, look in the sky and move or use the build button in studio so you can turn your graphics down to 0 |

Not to sound overly critical, but as mentioned above:
"it happens even with places that barely have any bricks and it's independent of how high or low my graphics settings are"
Anyway, here's a GIF.

There's apparently no delays when doing that. Here;

Happens when you put a little angle to the rotation, once more unto the breach;

| ok i dont see lag on the baseplate and the reason you were lagging is because the map was big if you think im false its just your computer's contents which are trying to process the game |

| But almost the whole GIF on the baseplate is laggy. It might not seem like it, but believe me - it was. That whole motion was constant spinning, I didn't stop once. |

| All right, so I went play solo - Spinning and rotating the camera on the baseplate or in any other place for that matter causes no lag or delay. Graphics were set to 1 both in testing and studio, studio still lagged. |

| would you like me to make you a personal server so you can make your project? then i can uncopylock it when you're done and you won't have to be going through lag building in studio |

| I'd have done that - but I really do love building in Studio over everything else. I'll try figuring out a solution. If I do find one, I'll share it here. |

Okay, I fixed it!
I did a little tampering - nothing radical - I set Studio to Administrator priviledges, and made sure from task manager that it's on high priority of data use.
But then it struck me - I remembered that my laptop has two separate graphics cards that switch between usage. When the going gets a little rough for the less effective GPU, the better one kicks in. Goodness knows what made the designers of this laptop make it so, but what I did was go into my AMD GPU settings (It's the better driver out of the two here) and set the ROBLOX Studio .exe to high priority, meaning it'll always use the AMD driver for it.
Now this stopped the lag, and I think what was causing it was the constant transition between the two cards. Now that they don't have to switch, the game runs smoothly.
On a side note, I have a new problem. Studio just updated, and that hideous fog seems to have made its way into my works. Can it be disabled somehow?
Thanks for your help up until now! |
