Orb Ball.
http://www.roblox.com/games/338493931/OrbBall-ALPHA
Recently just added a custom thumbstick control for mobile, so go ahead and try out the game on your iOS/Android devices. Please, give me suggestions, point out any bugs, anything! :) |

Not bad, hard to control the ball though. Maybe make it so when u make contact with the ball, it gets pushed in the direction you make contact using a body force, so it's easier to move instead of itself knocking back at you too.

Thanks for the suggestion. It sounds like a good idea.
Also, were you playing with a keyboard or on a mobile device? Each has its own control nuances and I'm trying to tweak how the game works. |

| Derpy, would you prefer the thumbstick to be locked in place? |

Make the players ball easier to control and make the ball ball easier to push.
It has potential. |

*UPDATE*
While I tweak with the controls and gameplay to make controlling easier, I've done a little side project...
Soccer on a modified, enclosed hockey field with orbs.... that wear hats. |

| Also, when you guys want controlling the ball to be easier, would that mean making the controls more like Orb Arena/the Star Meeps game, or more absolute-velocity-ish like controlling a normal character? |

Absolute velocity may destroy the concept of the game since players can be exactly where they need to be and always hit the ball since you don't have any kicking factor in the ball.
Maybe do Absolute Velocity and add it so when you hit the ball, it gets a bodyforce that kicks it in the direction you hit it.
So it kicks opposite the point where you collided with it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Or actually I just got a good idea. Make it so when you touch the ball, it locks in place with your ball and you press the spacebar to kick it. And if someone touches the ball while you have it in your posession, they steal it and it locks in place with them.
^^^^ I like this idea ^^^^

Sparkle, I like that idea too.
However, I also like how the game, as of right now, is sort of a physics jungle and I'm not sure if adding a 'lock' would turn it into a different kind of game.
I do agree that 'absolute velocity' would ruin the concept. Right now, I have a 'BodyForce' and 'BodyPosition' in every player's orb, each set to a high value so as to make controlling the orbs more absolute compare to just strictly BodyForce. Do you think that is causing a problem?
The gameball itself has no BodyMovers associated with it at all and is purely ROBLOX physics-driven. Maybe if I change the orbs to also be purely ROBLOX physics-based (save for BodyForce to control the ball) then it would be more intuitive? Although I /have/ tried (and started) with that control and found it too hard to control. |

| Could I also ask which camera angle you were using? I know certain camera angles I've created look amazing but control-wise it's a nightmare. |

| Hey guys! I've just added a pretty neat physical store to replace my GUI store. The game is also much more polished. Go ahead and have another try at it! :) |

That store is pretty amazing!
I have new ideas for the controlling physics of the player balls!
I like how it is right now, but you should have it once you let go of WASD or whatever you are using to control it, you keep rolling but slowly slow down to a stop in the last direction you were going.
But have it able that when you input a direction to go after you let go of your controller, make it that all forces are instantly 0 and then you can control the ball to go in your direction again.
If you need futher explanation, just ask. It's a bit confusing. I am sure it's a great idea though!
Imagine it like balls pinging in a random direction every now and then.

Hey SparkleFarts, I've implemented your suggestion of it rolling slowly after letting go and resetting the BodyForce after pushing a button again. Personally I think it feels a lot smoother! Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks Derpy. I've since changed the controls to only a thumbstick. If you try the thumbstick and think it's too hard to control, please inform me so that I could implement another control method like thumbpad or DPad.
***** In other news, I am pleased to inform that by the time of this post. My datastore leaderboard is now live and the Tier system is now working! Go ahead and try out the game, "Tier" up, do whatever you can to get ahead of the game while it's still in Alpha mode! Thanks for the support, guys. |

In other news, I've just released probably the most important update of the game so far just an hour ago. My game is now stable and is playable! It will soon be moving to 'Beta' mode. Thanks for the support guys!!

Azn, that was exactly what I was trying to say as a suggestion! I was confusing myself, but I'm glad you understand it! It feels so smooth now!

| So I've changed the ball physics one last time. I decided to only use BodyForce now because it seems that causes the least lag and the mobile controls aren't unplayable. |
