calculus and trig are extremely useful what the hell?
i work in biological sciences and most of my upper-div math is all calculus. granted, i'm not in physics, so trig (aside from trigonometric functions) less so, but seriously, what?
saying that they're not useful is factually wrong.

okay. if we're talking business, algebra can be used to calculate returns and interest rates based on mathematical models. a step furthering, using calculus, you can determine product surplus and consumer surplus and use those models to extrapolate so you can determine how much of something you should produce/how much the surplus will make you.
