| This El Nino has so far sucked af. Living in Michigan I get at least 4 snow days a year, which is awesome cause we don't have to make up snow days like southerners do (as I hear) so it is basically like a free weekish off of school a year. And this year it is looking like we won't get any, maybe one at most. |

"we don't have to make up snow days like southerners do (as I hear)"
It depends, We have around 4 days that we don't have to make up if it snows, any longer than that and they take away teacher work days and add extra days to the school year.
It also depends on your school system, Like I used to live in CT and we had so many snow days that we got 1 week of Christmas break and only a few other breaks. We had to stay in school in till like June 15 |

@epicpizza El Niño is a climate pattern that only pretty much affects the Southwestern U.S. in a positive way. States like California and Texas benefit from this climate pattern.
@pri It has been proven that on El Niño years, the chance of snow in Texas increases in pretty much every corner of the state. For heaven's sake lol, a lot of Texas was actually under a Blizzard Warning for a few days. |

the patterns matter but you don't look think things or guarantee things because of climate patterns things are more likely to happen of course but you can't just say there's going to be a big storm without looking at anything besides looking whether it's la nina, el nino or enso neutral
and yes the blizzard warnings in the texas panhandle (if I remember right but I don't pay attention to weather right now outside of the northeast) where most snow in Texas occurs not surprised

El Niño is a climate pattern that only pretty much affects the Southwestern U.S. in a positive way. ====================== now you're just telling people lies el nino affects everyones weather to say "el nino only pretty much affects the SWQ USA" is one of the dumbest things I'll hear from someone talking about meteorology in the next 10-12 years I'll be going to school for it

| I'm not lying when I say it affects the Southwestern U.S. in a positive way. It benefits the Southwestern U.S. much more than it does other regions of the contiguous USA. I'm not lying at all. |
