With superheroes being at an all time high in this day and age, it's hard to believe that any hero would be underrated. Somehow, there's a select few that are simply deemed not good enough either by fans or companies alike. Today, we'll count down the top ten superheroes that are underrated. Also, there will be spoilers involved with this post. Mainly about the aftermath of the Infinity Wars. You have been warned.

#10-John Constantine: Despite the Hellblazer having both a movie (that wasn't really good) and a TV show to his name, Constantine has continuously been given the short end of the stick. Despite having a successful TV series that garnered millions of fans per episode, NBC cut the show because it wasn't produced the way they wanted. Less we forget DC Comics remains silent on the future of this hero. It makes you wonder how the most popular hero from DC Comics Vertigo brand can be treated so awfully.

#9-Martian Manhunter: One of the most iconic and equally underused Justice League members is known as Martian Manhunter. Somehow, DC Comics doesn't find this character interesting. Despite holding high importance during the late Bronze age and Silver age of comics, DC has continuously spun around the hero throughout the modern era of comics. Let's not hold our breath on his appearance in Supergirl. That show isn't good as it is.

#8-The Question: Continuing our DC Comics thread is none other than The Question. Arguably the most interesting hero in modern comics, The Question drove himself to popularity in the late 80's for his mysterious tone and Objectivist views. After his first solo run ending in 1990, DC Comics dropped the ball with this character. They didn't grant him time in the limelight and saw him more as a side character. Nonetheless, does the Objectivist side of his character fit in the New 52's public image. It seems DC just doesn't give credit where it's due anymore.

#7-The Sandman: Have you guys every heard of The Sandman? No, I'm not referring to Marvel Comics with this one. One of DC Comics most critically acclaimed heroes is known as The Sandman, or more commonly known as Morpheus. This comic series was labeled under DC Comics Vertigo brand of comics. You would think with an older audience supporting this series that DC Comics would throw it into the limelight, right? Not exactly. Despite being one of the first graphic novels to be featured on the New York Time Best Sellers list and have several awards under it's belt, DC Comics hasn't given this series the credit it deserves. Seriously, Jack Kirby, a legendary comic book illustrator, worked on this title and DC still refuses to give it a movie. Less we forget it's rarely even featured in any of their modern comics. That being said, Sandman earns #7 on our trek to 1.

#6-Raven: Known as the more serious Teen Titan, Raven battled her way into the hearts of every Titan fan. Though, not into the hearts of DC Comics, obviously. Raven has always been one of those heroes DC Comics doesn't like for some reason. After Smallville ended, the CW was looking for a show to replace it. One of those candidates was Raven. While this got a lot of fans hopes up, DC Comics didn't want Raven to have a TV series. Instead, they gave them the Green Arrow. While this was a blessing in disguise, it makes you wonder why DC Comics won't give CW the rights to Raven to this day. These TV series do a lot more good than any of their movies. I guess they'll never learn.

#5-Swamp Thing: One of DC Comics best heroes is none other than Swamp Thing. Despite nearly every mainstream DC Comics hero being tied to Swamp Thing at one point in time, he never seems to be mentioned much in any adaption of the DC Universe. Despite having debuted John Constantine and being involved in some of the best storylines of the DC Universe, DC Comics views this hero as unimportant and quite simply farfetched. This is self-evident in his TV and movie adaptions. That being said, DC really needs a wake-up call. Which brings us to our next hero...

#4-Man-Thing: Have you ever heard of Man-Thing? Probably not, but he's been slightly hinted to in Thor: The Dark World. Being created by Bernie Wrightson, the creator of Swamp Thing, Man-Thing holds some pretty high influence over the Marvel Universe. How high of an influence? Man-Thing guards the Nexus of All Reality, which can take you to any reality in the Marvel Universe. Even realities in between those realities! Somehow, Marvel Comics doesn't view Man-Thing as important. Nowadays, he's relegated as a lower tier superhero and is seen in their new series Howling Commandos of S.H.I.E.L.D which is comprised of a random assortment of heroes.

#3-Adam Warlock: This will contain some major spoilers, so be prepared. Adam Warlock is highly important in shaping the post-Infinity Wars era of Marvel's Universe. After the Infinity Wars ended, Adam Warlock was granted the Infinity Gauntlet. It was then taken from him due to his character being emotionally unstable. He was then tasked with dismantling the Infinity Gauntlet and disposing of the Infinity Gems. That's a pretty tough job if you ask me. Although Adam Warlock was tasked with shaping the modern universes, he's rarely if ever mentioned in any comic outside of the 90's. Although he was hinted to in Thor: The Dark World and Guardians of the Galaxy, it's pretty unfair such an important character is wasted in the 2000's.

#2-Shazam: It's hard to believe, but only one more character has had a worse reputation than Shazam. Also known as Captain Marvel, Shazam has always gotten attention...for all the wrong reasons! Shazam has been sued twice in court cases that redefined the comics industry as a whole caused Shazam to take a lower tier role throughout his continuity. Being sued the first time for being too similar to Superman and sued the second time for being named "Captain Marvel," which is the name of another character (*cough* *cough* Miss Marvel *cough* *cough*). Despite DC Comics gaining Shazam during the first lawsuit, he was pretty much useless after the second one. Though, he has proved to be a fan favorite and a pretty awesome fighter in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Honorable Mentions:
Space Ghost
Vision
Red Tornado
Black Panther
Daredevil
Jessica Jones
Luke Cage
Iron Fist
The Punisher (my favorite superhero)
Silver Surfer
Gambit
The Incredible Hulk
Hawkeye
Patsy Walker (Hellcat)
X-23
Black Bolt

#1-Aquaman: I knew you guys would flame about this guy, so just light up the comments section while you have a chance. Go ahead, I'll wait on you. Anyways, Aquaman has had the worst reputation as a superhero. Why? Because he's Aquaman. Much like the original Guardians of the Galaxy, he was the butt of every joke and was pulled off the shelves for extremely (and I mean extremely) low sales. He's pretty much the Nickelback of the comics world. Despite having an interesting assortment of side characters (Aqualad, one of the best Teen Titans) and an interesting story, most writers couldn't capture the essence of the character. Nonetheless, could the fans invest in a character as juvenile and far-fetched as he was portrayed. That being said, Aquaman earns number one on our list. Let's just hope Batman vs. Superman is good.

Like the list? Hate the list? Pissed because the Fantastic Four wasn't mentioned? Flame.

MaleGuest, Hulk is very underrated. Marvel's made all of his movies terrible up to this point. They either don't give them enough money to produce the film, or give them enough money and cast terribly. The only good movie they've made of the Hulk so far was the animated film "Planet Hulk." Because of the casual audience of comic book fans, most don't know a lot about the depth of the Marvel Universe. When they see films like the 2008 Hulk and see how much it sucks, they automatically believe The Hulk is a terrible hero. This in turn lowers the stock of said hero and causes Marvel to put him on the back burner.

This is exactly why Marvel killed off Wolverine and ended the Fantastic Four for an unknown period of time. Fox ruined the value of the Fantastic Four by purposely producing awful movies. As immature as it sounds, they literally did produce them like that on purpose. As for the X-Men, FOX is trying to keep those films decent, but at the same time, Marvel isn't allowed to use the X-Men in the cinematic universe because FOX technically owns the rights to the X-Men. That's why Marvel is killing them off gradually and want to replace them with the X-Force.

X-23, the female clone of Wolverine, took the title of Wolverine in November. Although she's a decent character, she's getting a lot of heat from fans because casual fans don't understand why things like this happens. It's not really Marvels fault that they had to resort to this, but the fact they disguised the reason as a politically correct ploy is what's causing fan backlash. They know that devout fans understand why they killed off Wolverine, but casual fans don't understand why X-23 is the new Wolverine. That's what creates a divide and causes incidents like this to transpire.

That being said, you can now understand why movies and TV shows are important in the comic book world. Most people don't understand why us comic nerds appreciate films so much. Now you also know why we don't watch many DC Comics films either.

Phabulous, that's precisely the reason they were on this list. You've probably heard of about 4 of those heroes, yet the rest of them were downgraded during the 90's and early 2000's. The one thing they all have in common is that they all have a significant importance in the continuity of Marvel and DC Comics.

As for NoctCaelum, One Punch Man is a parody of superheroes and anime. He's not featured on this list for that reason.

That show was hilarious! My favorite episode was "Baffler Meal." I helped out C. Martin Croker build his booth a few weeks ago at a comic book convention. He's a nice guy. He gave me an autograph of a sketch he drew a few years ago. I'm trying to hunt down Space Ghost's solo series from 2005.

A taco (/ˈtækoʊ/ or /ˈtɑːkoʊ/) is a traditional Mexican dish composed of a corn or wheat tortilla folded or rolled around a filling. A taco can be made with a variety of fillings, including beef, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetables and cheese, allowing for great versatility and variety. A taco is generally eaten without utensils and is often accompanied by garnishes such as salsa, avocado or guacamole, cilantro (coriander), tomatoes, minced meat, onions and lettuce.

Saitama (さいたま市 Saitama-shi?) is the capital and the most populous city of Saitama Prefecture in Japan, situated in the south-east of the prefecture. Its area incorporates the former cities of Urawa, Ōmiya, Yono and Iwatsuki. It is a city designated by government ordinance. Being in the Greater Tokyo Area and lying 15 - 30 kilometres north of central Tokyo, many of its residents commute into Tokyo.

MyOwnSummer, awesome name! I love that song! "My Own Summer (Shove It)" is my second favorite song by the Deftones. My first is "Change."

As for Noct, One Punch Man may be similar to a superhero, but he doesn't really count as a superhero. That's like saying The Crimson Chin from Fairly Odd Parents should be featured on this list. One Punch Man is a parody of superheroes and mocks the stereotypes associated with superheroes as well as storylines associated with them. Space Ghost is listed here simply because he had a pretty decent solo series in 2005 which opens up the hero to new opportunities that are overlooked by DC Comics since he had a comedy show in the 90's.
