Has anyone noticed that Roblox doesn't support it? I simply don't understand just how very hard could it be to conduct a task like this? Roblox needs to stop worrying about the mobile apps and start bring the various supported versions up. Clearly Chromebooks are coming to a rise (Not soon enough) and sadly, By the time of this, Apocalypse rising's limited skins would be gone. Why has this ruined my Christmas?, Because Roblox is unsupported... Making me unavailable to roblox games etc. Thx alot roblox devs my Christmas is ruined. I hope yours was better...
And yes I know Chromebooks are "Netbook Based" but Roblox is an internet sourced game. (You practically can't play without connection).
Hopefully I get enough reviews to the point DEV's will look over this forum :)...

Chromebooks do have the power to handle roblox, especially the Acer 11, which has a 2.6ghz Celeron in it.
How would i know? Im playing it right now on mine :^)
You need to either install crouton and use it to install a linux distro, then run it through wine, or you can just use the SSH commands to play roblox via a virtual desktop.
Chromebooks themselves are based on Gentoo Linux and roblox does not currently support linux. |

| I meant GRPAHIC Power, not the processor power. I run a 1.4 GHZ Intel i5 and it runs fine, so almost any processor will do. |

| Chromebooks aren't weak Chrome OS just doesn't let the Chromebook unlock its full potential. I have Linux on in DEVELOPER mode. I've found various ways to play roblox on Chromebooks, but most are blocked off and isolated now. |

"I meant GRPAHIC Power" any onboard graphics chip works fine with roblox like immy said you can install crouton to enable linux booting on a chromebook (afaik only the intel based ones).

The Celeron processors have decent integrated graphics, much better than any tablet does.
My Dell Inspiron has the same processor and ive used it for everything from Terraria to 3D Modelling in AutoCAD 2015.
ChromeOS is what keeps a chromebook from its full potential, the hardware in them is decent. Via crouton im able to get games like Gta IV and Minecraft to work on it with decent framerates. Not exactly 60fps, 4k resolution, maxed out with graphics mods. But comfortably playable with little lag. |

Chromebooks are computers. Why would not a single computer be well enough to run one game? |

The Chromebooks DO NOT ACCEPT DOWNLOADS
They are NOT a computer. They are NOT a tablet. They are NOT a phone.
I quote something I found awhile back "Chrome books are only capable of running chrome." How true that is I do not know.
Let me do a fair test comparison
Windows Surface Tablet RT (of which I have) Chrome books (in general)
Some people may have heard of the Surface Tablet. It is a TABLET not a computer. Like all TABLETS and IPADS it cannot download straight from the web. (This excludes Surface PROs which are like a laptop.)
The chrome book will come under the same bracket i.e it can only download from the CHROME store.
Further more: I would highly doubt the effective capabilities and the graphics power of the chrome books regardless of what they are would allow them to play roblox effectively.
Anymore questions PM me, and I will reply, and post the same answer on the form.
I hope this answers some questions
Good luck to all! |

| first roblox would need to be ported to the chromebased os. Second it's not rising, Chromebooks are a low end laptop meant for school/casual tasks like Netflix. Side note most Chromebooks would have a hard time running roblox due to low specs. |

| ROBLOX supports Windows, Mac, Linux but you have to wait until ROBLOX can make an update to support Chromebook because you know how lazy admins are. |

@ARMob "Yeah I opened up the terminal and it states this "Sudo: apt-get:Command not found"." I specifically said make a debian/ubuntu chroot and use that command, ChromeOS does not use the aptitude package manager.
Put the chromebook into developer mode, download Crouton, follow literally any online guide to install crouton and make a debian/ubuntu chroot. Then use the chroot to install wine and play roblox through that.
@Tankerspam -They do accept downloads -They are a computer -Chromebooks can do much more than just run Chrome, its that they were designed to just run Chrome -You can download applications from just about anywhere on the internet, its just a matter of if theyre compatible with ChromeOS. You also have the option of installing linux applications via the terminal. -They can play roblox, hint, i can play roblox on my chromebook. You dont need a 3400$ graphics card to play this game, its pretty lightweight and the Celeron processor with integrated graphics handles it very well.
So you dont have a chromebook and you start making up your own ideas of how they work? Also >surface tablet Nice iPoor there.
@SoundGod Chromebooks can run roblox just fine, and they are rising in popularity in the consumer market due to "facebook machine" users. And those users include roblox players.
@tul06 Roblox does not support any linux platoform, which they will have to do if they want the Chromebook users to be able to play their game without any extra effort.

| About the Chromebook though, is that you can only play Google Play games. There are some ways around, but they will void warranty and make your computer a brick. ROBLOX may be internet and all that, but you still have to download it from a non-Play source which is not allowed by Google. Also, ROBLOX is on Google Play Mobile, but isn't yet made for the exact Chromebook. Hope this helps :) |
