Common-knowledge laws The Seven Kingdoms base their laws off of a feudal-type system. Most laws are common knowledge. a. No murder is to be committed inside the capital of King's Landing. b. One may not be a member of more than one house. c. The King's Peace is kept by Lords, who rule over their respective houses. The Lords have the right to pass down judgement on members of their own house for crimes committed within. d. Any crimes committed outside of one's house is to be handled by the King or a Lord appointed by the King in the Capital City of King's Landing. e. Any laws not specifically written in this document, but are believed to be laws, are known as 'common-knowledge' laws. If one is unsure whether or not there is a law against something, do not perform the act. *In the event of random killing, it is best to just leave it and not retaliate as it causes more issues. If the RK is consistent, you have a right to self-defence. [✘]▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬[✘] Section 2. Customs and Traditions The Seven Kingdoms have many customs and traditions, ranging from titles to etiquette. 2.A) Titles and proper addressing a. Official titles range as such: King>Prince/Princess>Hand>Lord Paramount>Lord/Lady>Knight>Commonfolk b. To properly address a King one would say "Your Grace". This is also important for addressing the Queen. c. To properly address the Hand one would say “Lord/Lady Hand”. d. To properly address a Lord or Lord Paramount, add their Title before their name. I.E. Lord Paramount Mace Tyrell, or Lord Eddard Stark e. To properly address a Knight, add the title Ser before their name. I.E. Ser Jaime Lannister. f. Smallfolk, or those without a title, are simply addressed by their name. I.E. Myranda. 2.B) Traditions a. By common law, any man accused of a crime has the right to a trial, and Nobility may demand a Trial By Combat. b. The Iron Throne is reserved for the King, and the Hand of the King in the King's absence.* If anyone else is to sit on the Iron Throne, they are to be executed immediately by any other party in the vicinity, as is your duty. c. Any traditions not stated here may be added at a later date by the King. *The heir to the throne and the queen may also sit in the King's absence [✘]▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬[✘] Section 3. Religious laws The Primary religion in The Seven Kingdoms is the Faith of the Seven, however the dominant religion is whatever religion the King and his house follows. I.E. Stark follows the Old Gods. a. The High Priest of the dominant religion in the Seven Kingdoms holds the right to crucify, burn, drown, or otherwise execute heretics within the Seven Kingdoms. b. Priests of the dominant religion in the Seven Kingdoms hold special rights, but are not above the Power of the King. All within the Seven Kingdoms are his subjects, including Priests, and must abide by laws that he sets. c. Priests may not crucify/burn/drown/otherwise execute a Knight or other Nobility without unquestioned proof that they have committed a terrible crime in the eyes of their god. d. Any religious laws not posted here may be added/changed in the future at the Order of the King. Side note: Killing people in the name of your god is not allowed. It will count as RK and you will be punished. [✘]▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬[✘] Section 4. Name Laws Names are a common issue amongst the people of the Seven Kingdoms. a. One’s name may only be related to something they legally are or possess. E.g. “Ser Lance Wolfbane, Knight of House Lannister” for a Lannister Knight. This same Knight could not name himself “Lord Lance Lannister, God of everyone” b. Should ones name be inconsistent with the one you set, one will do /unname or /hide until you can correct your name. c. One will not parade around with a name that is not theirs. Failure to abide by these laws will result in a KoS until you fix it or use one of the provided alternatives. [✘]▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬[✘] Section 5. Land Laws Anyone in possession of Land, once certified, is a Lord. The head of a house automatically possesses their houses land (E.g. Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell) Lands tied to said house can be given to members of the house. If you’re in a house and own land, but are not the Lord of the house, your lord is still above you. Land can be taken from anyone through a “Land war.”* Any wars on LP’s for their land will become a paramountcy war. Anyone can assist in a Land war (provided they’re in the same region) Losing land results in a loss of status and power Being part of a land war does not permit one to RK at Kings Landing To move regions, you must take Land from another house in that region or be granted it from the Lord Paramount (You give up your land in your current region in the process) *The Hand of the King and the King are excluded from this ruling for obvious reasons [✘]▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬l▬[✘] Section 7. Any squire caught talking is to be reported to the Lord Commander. Harassing/Insulting any member of the Kingsguard will result in death Dressing as a Kingsguard, while not being one, will result in KoS and criminalization *Terms are “YES SER” “NO SER” and “PERMISSION TO SPEAK, SER?” In block capitals.
