| Thinking about getting one. Never had one before, but what I want to do is get the cheap $5 one with a tiny monitor to make a basic calculator. Should I get it? |

Yea, Xanth, the Raspberry Pi is pretty much just a motherboard.
If I wanted to get an OS on it I may as well buy the rest of the computer components I need (hard drive, maybe optical drive, inputs/outputs, etc). If I just got the $5 one, I could have it hooked up to my computer for power and then have it hooked up to a little 3" monitor for a basic calculator.
The only reason I'm starting here is because I have no idea how it works, and I don't want to blow all of my money at once. |
