i bought some steam games today for $40, if i bought them on the xbox live marketplace, it would've cost me $214, and if i bought them from gamestop it would have cost me $154
then on top of it you have the $50 or $60 annual online membership, but pc's got it for free |

@cat
The Internet bill and the Xbox Live/PSN stack up so console is still more expensive. |

I think that is part of the reason devs don't always sell on steam first because in xbla the standard pricing is much higher

| I have a lot more games in my Steam library than I've ever had in my physical collection (I think the most I had at once was a little over 40). |

Too poor to buy Xbone / PS4 when they came out, too poor to buy them now even when their prices drop.
The only console I'm buying games for is a PS2, though I think I might sell them to buy games for an original Xbox (the best console ever released, hands down; especially when you take into account how well it emulates most games you throw at it). |

| Also everyone in this day and age needs to buy a pc aswell. So if you buy a gaming pc you don't need to buy a console and some mediocre laptop. |

gaming pcs/laptops can cost anywhere from $600-$1000 most steam games that had console releases cost around $30-$50
unlike most steam games, console games' prices go down when they get dated |

"have you ever heard of something called a "handheld"?"
I believe he was referring to living room consoles. Also, when you say "handheld" you're probably just referring to the 3DS because I know you're a Nintendo fanboy.
"or a "wii u"?" "
What are you talking about?
A 32GB Wii U is $299.99, which is $50 less than the other consoles.
Splatoon is $50, near $60 which is the price for an average triple A game.
Mario Kart 8. $50/$60.
Super Smash Bros. $40, still less bang for your buck because OP describes he got "games" for $40, not a game.
Console gaming is expensive compared to it's PC counterpart, even if it's Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or even the Wii U. Face it.

Can't invest another 800 Euros in another Pre-Build that will turn out to be total bull crap at the end. I will have to stick with my console as for now.. *sigh*
