| I've never been subject to anything that feminists say the patriarchy does. They say patriarchy is when a man is congratulated on losing his flower, but women are shamed. There is nothing wrong with consentual marital relations. If there is any pre marital or extra marital relation, that should be frowned upon, but equally towards each gender. I've also never been shamed for crying like what the patriarchy apparently does. I'm a straight white male, my dad is, my mom is straight white female, both have never punished me or anything for crying. |

feminism has evolved into women leveraging the sexism card as an excuse to gain power over men
as if they didn't already have that power by the fact that they are women |

the patriarchy as a concept, that is, that men are a dominating body in society, is real, yes.
the patriarchy, as liberal feminists describe it, as being an omnipotent being responsible for the continuous inequalities between women is seperate - and up to debate by sociologists.
it's common misconception that feminism is all about the patriarchy, that's wrong. there are several types of feminism that exists 'at this moment'
major schools of thought right now include:
-black feminism (trials of white women are not the same as minorities) -liberal feminism (the feminism that most people think is the majority - which believes in the patriarchy idea. fun fact, not the majority idea.) -postmodern feminism (popular school of thought in scholarly articles right now, basically looks at gender in a non-binary way to address gender inequalities)
so yeah. there u go

i don't think it's much of an argument that men hold more power in society at this moment? we can argue about how males often get the short end of the stick in child-custody laws/societal gender role expectations but in terms of political and economic power, i dont think the gender gap is up for debate.

"No"
referring to overall leadership in human society, crak is correct that it's definitely male-dominated
however that's something that is not human-specific, it's present in a lot of animals, mainly because females have to spend more time having children and taking care of them while the males handle the other stuff. |

| Even the whole "men are the dominant force" thing doesn't apply to me. All the women in my family work and have worked. |

fair enough but keep in mind that we're talking about societal trends, not individual exceptions when we talk about gender inequality. |
