When a guy flirts with a girl, it's harassment
When a girl flirts with a guy, she's simply being... flirty

Just like if an adult woman called a small little boy "cute", she's making an observation
but if an adult man calls a little boy cute, he's automatically a p3do |

When a guy flirts with a girl, he's a player
When a girl flirts with a guy, she's a s***
There are lots of double standards, and then tend to be harder on women than men.
It's getting a lot better though. |

I mean, if you're cat calling or something, that'd be harassment.
Flirting with no harmful intentions that to anyone with common sense would obviously not appear to be harmful?
Not harassment.

Actually, that's not when they flirt, that's when they hook up. A man who's able to hook up despite the whole harassment flirt thing are seen as alphas. |

@Goshi
You're not getting it
This thread reflects society's view on men's actions compared to when women do the same thing, but it isn't deemed as wrong or as bad when they do it.
Yes, I agree flirting, no matter if you're a guy or girl, isn't harassment. That's what I'm trying to say, but society doesn't see it that way. |

What's the difference? They're both pretty derogative. |

"You're not getting it"
I am.
"This thread reflects society's view on men's actions compared to when women do the same thing, but it isn't deemed as wrong or as bad when they do it."
Obviously.
"Yes, I agree flirting, no matter if you're a guy or girl, isn't harassment. That's what I'm trying to say, but society doesn't see it that way."
Society... mainly thrives off of what's the majority or whatever's most common. Things like this have just been pushed off as "that's it, that's just how it is" so often that it's just become one of those "natural" ideals expected by everyone to just think the same of.
Which is exactly what makes it ridiculous. Because clearly this isn't the case every single time it happens. Ironic for me to say probably, but that's unfortunately how society works and why it's a good idea to start changing it now.

A 'player' can sometimes be seen as a good thing, especially among other guys. I'll admit it wasn't the best example though. |

And yet some things are too static and ingrained to change anytime soon. Pushing for a swift and painless cultural shift produces unhealthy confusion and unrest. |

Yes, not the case every time. Although it does happen a lot.
I can't see these standards changing anytime soon though |
