I know this is a long post, but it's a message i really want to get across to people, and it's something a lot of people may not have thought about. So please give it a read. It just might be worth it.
So are you a bully to someone? Most of you may answer no, (hopefully,) but i want you to really think about it. Because i just realized myself that i have been a bully to someone and i didn't even know it. A lot of people may view it as "friendship" when it is actually just bullying. That makes no sense right now, but allow me to explain. There was this girl at school who was in my science class, (Let's call her Mindy for now. Not her real name, but let's call her that.) she was in my group of friends (squad if you will) and we would all make jokes about her and pick on her, we never viewed it as being anything more than just jokes, but then there was this one day that one of my friends was jokingly kicking Mindy as we were going down the halls. We were all laughing about it, even Mindy was laughing about it, she didn't appear to take it too seriously. So the next day goes by and we're at school and we go to our science class and we didn't see Mindy there. We didn't think much of it at all. Just figured she may have been sick or something. No big deal. The next day goes by, Mindy still isn't there. Still didn't give it much thought. So days go by and we don't see Mindy there. So we start to wonder what was up.
Then one day, i was sitting in English class, and there is a beeping sound and someone asks me to come to room 1103. So i go there and i see a security guard there. She tells me i'm not in any trouble, she just wanted to get some information from me. She asks me about the entire situation and said she thought it might have been bullying. I told her that everyone was laughing about it, it didn't seem like bullying to me. Nobody was angry at each other. So she had me write that down and sign it. So i go to one of my friends and was like "So i got called into the office yesterday" and she immediately knew what i was talking about. Turns out a lot of kids were questioned about it. So we ask our science teacher if Mindy is still in the class, and she says no. So ofc, if Mindy wasn't in the class, nobody saw her at school, she wasn't at school anymore. And we all felt really bad. We felt no better than what everyone can classify as a bully. We haven't heard from her since.
So the point of this entire story is make sure you aren't a bully to anyone. Ask yourself, is your friendship real? Do you guys have a relationship, help eachother, have real conversations? Or is your "friendship" just you making fun of the person and think just because they're laughing, it's okay. Cause the person may be laughing on the outside, but crying on the inside. Just like Mindy. Sure, friends make jokes about each other from time to time, but they know when to stop, and when it goes too far. And that's not what their entire friendship is. Just making fun of each other. You may be highly against bullying, you may hate bullies, but not realizing that you are a bully yourself.
Never thought i'd make a post like this, but i wanted to get the message out. Thanks. |

So the moral of your story, never make fun of friends, never joke with them? Ahh, with friends like OP, who needs enemies?

'too far'? Mindy never spoke a word, and just brushed it off for nubs and giggles. Then she accuses you for 'going too far' What a crap friend.

| @mecha I get it though. A person sometimes feels like they don't wanna appear to be weak and can't handle jokes. But it is best to get it off your chest. We wish Mindy did |
