I browsed the forums yesterday and saw an idea that I wanted to build on (credit to steamsport). Basically, the idea was to revamp the system for swords for the better. The way this would be done was by introducing a stamina system along with different weapon choices. The stamina system would work in a way that stamina will be drained for doing different actions such as dodging by jumping, possibly heavy attacks, and maybe even sprinting. This would require people to keep an eye out for their stamina, and use it well. It would also introduce more mechanical skill, and make SF'ing seem less luck-based and more skill-based. Now if you also introduced new weapons, that could make it a possibility to specialize in certain weapons. These weapons would of course be available to everyone from the start, as locking certain weapons will just add tedious grinding which is not required.
I want to hear if anyone else has any suggestions for a system like this, and wanted to know if this sounded good?

The issue is that you would have to know how to do all these things, or hire someone else to. After that you would have to convince the sword fighting community that your sword clan is actually a sword clan. People don't like change either so you would have to find probably more new bags then veteran sword fighters. Also running with swords seems a little broken.

you have to be careful with how you change it
for example, changing the sword animation is a huge no-no |

We're not complaining about change, we're complaining that it's a fix to a problem that doesn't exist.
Swords are a perfect system, new or old animations. The only reason you would need to push a new system is if you think it would help with recruitment or activity, which it wouldn't - it would more likely push your current members away and make it more difficult to find new members, knowing that they now have to learn not only how to SF, but how to manage stamina among other things.
nothing is broke here, don't bother fixing it |

I think it'd be a good idea to have different types of swords which have you with certain speed/damage/defense, that way you can specialize in skill of whatever you want and it can be more diverse, but less "stamina" and more just like 16-20 walkspeed type of thing
I like your idea though |

"nothing is broke here, don't bother fixing it" Well you see A lack of a good community to run around in Everyone dislikes sword clans for the lack of innovations and sitting on your butt tactics and making a different color scheme and a long walk base to force tie with a 1500 terminal and nothing very appealing Then I look at GoT or ancient era clans. They have animation different weapons and everything 50 person events. Please tell me more how the system you choose to agree with is not broken

Not every base in ROBLOX is forced to be a "different color scheme and a long walk base to force tie with a 1500 terminal". That sounds like a direct call out to some base you probably disliked.
GoT and ancient era clans are based on ROLEPLAY instead of killing eachother, that's why they are more successful than what clans you take part in.
"Please tell me more how the system you choose to agree with is not broken" It's worked fine for 6 years. The only reason that activity within sword clans is dropping is because ALL of roblox war-clans' activity is dropping. |

I'm happy with the way the current swords are, no need to change it more; more so that I wouldn't even be able to get a 10 kd difference anymore.
I got screamed at for wearing my black sports snood into my science exam because they thought I stuffed answers into it. |

It wasn't and every sword clan is legitimately the same Different color scheme Different name Linked sword New or old animations They are dull and uninteresting
Got has wars it's not pure role play do some research I beg to differ on ancient clans since I know several that aren't "pure roleplay" You are thinking of spqr who still in fact have more people interested in it then the sword community

It changed the animations only and it was still only a linked sword
The linked sword is the equivalent of using a carbine |

I don't understand how they can all be the legitimate "same" but have all of those differences you named.

Really just done. Because those differences are minimum.
When they could easily introduce different melee style weapons and make the clan a lot different
