I recently got a new router, and it's been working fine until the past few days. I have been having huge ping spikes (going from 30ms to 300ms+) and I cannot pinpoint why. I am directly connected to the router through ethernet. No one but me is using the internet. I also have a gaming computer. When directly connected to the modem, I do not have this ping issue. It only affects me when I am connected to the router. Usually the ping spikes after 10 minutes of being in game, almost as if it's kicking me off for using up a lot of the internet. I have already reset the router to factory settings and re-installed the drivers. I cannot pinpoint why this happens. Please help!
Router specs: ASUS RT-AC68R Dual Band PC Specs: (nvidia geforce 960, intel i5 4690k). Internet specs: 20 mbps download, 2mbps upload, 300+ ping |
