does it still take your forum posts back to what they were the last time you used that username?

I immediately knew you were going to ask "Does it take away your forum post count"

Your post count will remain the same when you change your username.
Posts made with your old username will still be displayed with your old username, however. This isn't an issue though, so don't worry. |

My original username was "Crappy", throughout my entire name changing career, I gained 12k forum posts. I then changed back to my original name, and my forum posts were reset to like 2k or something like that, because that's how many I originally had when I was using that username.
I want to change my name again but I'm not sure weather or not it'll reset my forum posts.

@USMC
I'm not sure what you mean by that, do you mean that it will keep my post count?
OR
Do you mean that my post count will reset but all I have to do is change back to receive my 12k posts back?

You probably changed your username when the feature was first released then; when you changed your username, your post count got a little muddled up, and didn't transfer over with your new account name.
This bug has since been patched, so your posts should be fine. |

All I mean is, for example:
threads made with your username "Dark5001" will still show your username as "Dark5001", even though your username has been changed.
Only new posts made with your new username, display your new username; if that makes sense. |

@USMC
Well, what I am trying to ask is,
Well first off I realize that previous posts will use the username you used when you made the post, but I have 12k forum posts, so when I change my name back to my 07 name, will my post count travel with me and stay the 12k, or will they reset to what I had before I first changed my username?

@U
Alright here in case you are confused, not sure if you are or not, but I'm just clueless about this entire issue,
My original name on this account was "crappy". I had about 2k forum posts. I then changed my usernames on and on about 10 more times, Now I have 12k forum posts.
When I change my username back to "crappy", will it take my forum posts back to 2k or remain at 12k?
That's pretty much all I can do to clarify.

| DON'T CHANGE YOUR USERNAME! You need to value your creativity as much as you can. Who cares if your username is alphanumeric, at least the numbers are all in one place. |

I get what you mean haha.
You can change your username back to Crappy, and you WILL still have 12K posts. |

@81
I may or may not value this username because I am most known by it, but "crappy" will bring back my 07 memories and restore my happiness, thank you USMC for the information, it was useful.

I copied this from the box that pops up when I went to change my username
IMPORTANT: Original account creation date and forum post count will carry over to your new username. Previous forum posts will appear under your old username and will NOT carry over to your new username.
So yea, your forum post count will carry over.

Isn't that telling me that it will not carry over to an older username? Crappy is an old username, Dark5001 is a new username. It says it would carry over to a new username but not an old one, meaning it would not carry over if I went back to "crappy".
Oh well :/

That's a little more complicated. I am not sure if it would consider reverting back to an old username as a new username or old one. That might be a question to ask support.

But support is dead, no admins ever respond to my posts as there is too much inappropriate behavior that young children are causing, and they need to take action to. They should just create a bot that deletes threads/bans people automatically so they can focus on the fact that we need help and if our questions remain unanswered then they could be losing money.

I mean their support email. This is not like reddit where admins are constantly reading their forums. You will have better luck contacting them directly through their support email.
