"overpriced isn't subjective when they make 1k$ desktops with integrated gpu's and low tier i5 processors" But they're not marketing towards gamers. iMacs are a lot more for programmers, music producers, artists, etc. You have to understand that you're also paying for the huge retina screen that has a lot of quality built into it, and the exclusiveness of iOS. |

"iMacs are a lot more for programmers" YOU'RE JOKING RIGHT? PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE JOKING? iMacs are HORRID for programmers, regardless of your skill level. Plenty of languages treat them as the outcast, as they develop for them last every time, considering macs hardly support common languages. Not to mention the OS is useless as linux is free, and the low quality builds are just horrible.

| even for programmers you could build a pc with a much better processor and more RAM and a bigger monitor and still save hundreds, I'm not seeing the point in your argument |

"YOU'RE JOKING RIGHT? PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE JOKING? iMacs are HORRID for programmers, regardless of your skill level." Exactly why are they bad for programming? Please do explain, assuming that you've owned an iMac. You can't tell me that they're bad for programming if you've never used one.
"Not to mention the OS is useless as linux is free, and the low quality builds are just horrible." Pfffft. I bet you use Ubuntu or something. |

"even for programmers you could build a pc with a much better processor and more RAM and a bigger monitor and still save hundreds, I'm not seeing the point in your argument" Of course you could, but it's still not going to have OS X. A lot of people like OS X and like the kind of support they get from Apple. Of course, you can always build a Hackintosh, but that's besides the point. This is in the POV of the average consumer, not some enthusiast. |

"Pfffft. I bet you use Ubuntu or something." I use what I feel like using considering I run win 10 as my main, and a linux distro in a vm. I've used plenty, ubuntu is the most common but I've used debian and mint and kali, the skid machine (yet it is useful for a few things skid unrelated)

So the iMac can't be defended in any way other than OS and Warranty?
No thanks, I think I'll build my own PC and save a few hundred. That's just me, though |

"I use what I feel like using considering I run win 10 as my main" I lost you at Windows 10
"I did explain to you, and I have used one before and I hate them with a passion." OS X has support for all those languages... Besides, you REALLY bought a Mac before? What were the specs? How long did you use it? What year did you buy it? What Mac OS did it run? When did you get rid of it? |

"So the iMac can't be defended in any way other than OS and Warranty?" It also has a very nice design that you can't really get out of a computer build. |

The best part about Apple is that they lock you to Safari, in which is god awful.
