Using a quadratic could work, but in this instance, a cubic might work better. because on a quadratic it is going to be symmetrical, but with a cubic function, you can specify the slope better.
Lets say you want the projectile to fly and drop at 30, with a quadratic it would be up exponentially until you reach the axis of symmetry then the opposite. Cubic function, however you can set a root in the negatives and have the projectile fly more level or more steep according to your preferences.
tl;dr version: Quadratic function will work just fine, cubic function will have more customization and ability to change |

| Oh and to account for whoever mentioned gravity as a constant, that is just another number youd have to work out into the formula. I would get into it and provide examples, but i had just learned this and took an hour long test on it so id rather not lol. |
