So these are my current specs
OS: Windows 8.1 64Bits
CPU: Intel iCore i3-4150 @3,5GHz (4 CPUs)
GPU: nVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (this is the part I'm planning to replace with a GTX 970, will that work?) 2-4GB VRAM (I dont remember clearly)
RAM: 8GB
if you need any more info to help me out ask.
so what could I change? as I said I plan on getting rid of the good ol' GTX 650, but I still could upgrade something else. Also if it's about the CPU, it runs everything just fine with those 3,5GHz so that's not really going to be in my agenda anytime soon.

PSU? that's what the upgrade hinges on
a 970 would be kinda bottlenecked by a 4150, but as long as the PSU's a-ok you should be fine |

yeah I was expecting comments on the i3.
I do know an i3 with a 970 is pretty abysmal in terms of performance difference
still though I don't have much budget to afford an i5 AND the GPU so, it's either one of them =(
also @live, if you mean the energy supplied that's (AC) 230V, but if it's another data you're looking for tell me. |

| CPU will bottleneck and a quadcore is better than dual. |

Will the CPU bottleneck? No. Should you get say, a 960 and a i5? Yes. (Then proceed to overclock the snot out of the 960)

I should as well mention the 650 has 3GB VRAM, so I can assure you it doesn't perform badly
anywho, will the combo be bottlenecked? i'm getting mixed replies and I've never had much experience about hardware. |

thing is I'm not a big fan of running games at Ultra, just to get 60 FPS I don't really mind changing some specs.
I want to change the GPU because, generally, the CPU is fine. as I said it has 3,50GHz speed so most of the time it's the GTX650 bugging performance. The card isn't however a bottleneck for my current system either, but still could upgrade it.
i'd also like suggestions on another GPU (more likely lower than the model I suggested) if it truly is going to be bottlenecked. |
