I suppose that the novelty, volume, and demand of an item all factor in to the comments on that item.
That being said -- I think it could be possible to predict with a relatively accurate degree of certainty that you could use the standard deviation of comment times (how recent they were made) (along with their average) to determine how popular and item may be and to gauge its demand and possible predict future sales of that item. |

| As in how recent they were made... the little number at the top of the comment that states how long ago the user made the comment. |

Do you know what a degree of certainty is kid? What about standard deviation. I'm using accurate definitions I learned in AP Stats -- which I passed with a 5 on my exam.
I have got no more than 5 hours a night of sleep on average this week so just gtfo you're ignorant. |

Relatively accurate degree of certainty DEFINED:
I could create an algorithm to use the standard deviation in recent-ness of lets say... the 10 most recent comments, and then use that data to determine how popular an item is, not only that, but with a degree of certainty returned from the algorithm allowing the user to see how risky it would be to take the advice of the algorithm. I said relatively accurate because of course the algorithm wouldn't be perfect so I couldn't be sure the degree of certainty returned is extremely accurate either, but I feel it could be "relatively" accurate.

What does the amount of sleep you have gotten have anything to do with you overcomplicating your sentences?

First of all you just proved what I said is true because you talked about how "smart" you are with all those amazing HIGH SCHOOL MARKS, lol. Getting good marks in high school is not an accomplishment, it's a bare minimum.
Yes I totally believe that about your sleep too. You must study so much as you're on roblox.
When you get accepted to a top uni/college, then try to challenge me. You're stepping in so much dog poopy right now. |

I'm not going to college (at least not right out of highschool), I'm joining the Marines as I have established repeatedly in other posts.
I was establishing Ethos using my AP Stats score as proof I know what I'm talking about when it comes to EXTREMELY SIMPLE words used in statistics. You should know those, but you clearly do not as your comment demonstrated.
Not only that but the fact that I need to define everything for you shows you aren't as smart as you think you are (and don't give me that sorry excuse of "I never said I was smart", because when you question others' intelligence it shows clearly you think you are smarter). I don't get enough sleep because I have track from 2 to either 4 or 5 depending on the day (sometimes it's late at night, ie: 6 to 9) and I have band practice after track about twice weekly for another 2 hours. Also on Thursday I have Marine pool functions from 4 to 7:30 usually, I have 2 parades I need to play in for band over the weekend, and I have classes.
Don't make assumptions about how late I stay up or my reasons for being awake unless you know me -- which you don't. Today is nice because I had track right after school and no band today. |

I'm not reading all that garbage, I have too many other unimportant things to do.
I'm in second year for software development and network engineering so don't talk about algoritms and data like I don't know. I will run circles around you in every subject, so stop making yourself look like a nose-picker and stick to your grade 9 education, lol

And Maxxel, I have received numerous letters from Ivy Leagues including Harvard, Brown, and MIT. My IQ is 129 (top 2 to 3%) and I scored a 93 on my ASVAB. You're stepping in dog poopy pal.
I have no wish to put myself 100 thousand dollars in debt, and I actually want valuable life experience which can't be earned in college. The military will be paying for my education regardless of whether or not I believe in the politics of free college (which I don't, but it's not like I'm going to pass on up to 250 thousand dollars in tuition) |

Maxxel, you'll run circles around me in every subject which I taught myself when I was 12, but yet you don't know what accuracy and standard deviation mean? Nor do you know what degree of certainty means?
Good luck after you flunk out of college. And nice stereotypical major by the way. |

| I won the argument due to your cherry picking fallacy. Nice job genius you :) By the way, would you like me to refer you to a statistics textbook? I'm sure you'll find the first 2 pages very useful in teaching you everything you failed to understand in this thread. |
