Recently I found out that my published shirt is STOLEN by a random LR from NBC creators. Thanks god I did put a copyright protection on my shirt in order to prevent copyright issues. I also add our group logo on the shirt as a secondary protection.
I then sent roblox copyright agent a mail. I provided pictures, with creation date labeled. I also clearly pointed out the logo/copyright protection I added on the shirt. I explained in full detail, and provided a link to the 2 items Surprising, I got an reply from Matt Dusek; Chief Architect of Roblox. I was very disappointed by how he said "we are unable to remove the stated shirt, because are not sure if this is copyrighted or similar" The 2 shirts are identical! I have a copyright protection! I have my creation date clearly labeled!
Ugh! I don't know why, but I think Roblox mods are speeding through those mails too quickly. They don't inspect close enough, before making their choice. Especially when it is serious issues such as copyrighted work! I really think ReesecMcBlox (Becky) should hire more offline mods for the Roblox customer service. As she said in my tour to Roblox HQ that there are approximately 100 offline mods. The current mods are dealing with too much mails, that they don't have much time for each one! Imagine 1 mod dealing with 60k people. That ratio is just way too large! |

| @Kevin, you can literally remove those copyright marks in about a second and it will legitimately look like it's brand new with the original template background, or a new background of your choosing. |

| You can not claim copyright on ROBLOX. You can pursue no legal action and ROBLOX can't do anything about it. Everything original you create on ROBLOX, the copyright rights will go to ROBLOX. |

Therefore the copied content does break ROBLOX Rules.

Support. but, Try sending the email again, I've had issues where people had copied my game (due to previous owner being abusive) and had to get a bunch of copies taking down via The Copyright Act, but doesn't work 100% of the time. |

I do understand that roblox owns all the contents. But there is a copyright agency for games, why not shirts?
I sent it to copyright_agent@roblox.com

@ThoughtConduit It is not an actual law copyright. It is just a copyright protection within roblox itself
@Megafushion The reason I sent a copyright infringment is to prevent the person who hacked my work get any profit. It is true that I am making profit from the shirt/pants , but I hate it when people who did no work is earning profit by hacking... |

@Sehiro
You can't really send a copyright infringment unless your work is original. If you use freemodels of course there are no copyright protection. Roblox holds a software that can test the % of originality based on the models database. That is how they proved JuliusColes to be a copier.
T-Shirt also don't have copyright protection, because the image basically comes from google.
But I should have copyright protection with my shirt, because I/my partner made it from scratch with Adobe Photoshop. And I've proved it to be the first published on Roblox |

"Roblox holds a software that can test the % of originality based on the models database. That is how they proved JuliusColes to be a copier."
Um... excuse me... where is the source? They did not use a software to test the originality based on the "models database" which is non-existent. They proved JuliusColes to be a copier because of the clear evidence (Welcome to the Town of ROBLOXia was a VERY popular game) and demand to get rid of him.
"T-Shirt also don't have copyright protection, because the image basically comes from Google."
ROBLOX can't detect if something is from Google, and most people can't have evidence, or it could be hard. By that logic, your shirt shouldn't be copyrighted because you have no evidence it was made from scratch!
"But I should have copyright protection with my shirt, because I/my partner made it from scratch with Adobe Photoshop. And I've proved it to be the first published on Roblox"
Yes, you can prove it to be the first to be published on ROBLOX, but how will ROBLOX know that your image was from Google? They don't really have anything to detect with to see if it was ever uploaded on the internet. Google Image really only detects the files. You could've just taken a screenshot.
Anyway, your points aren't really good and you are blaming high ranks even though it is the customer agents that are replying to you, not the high ranks, they just have same names. Also, more people means more money. ROBLOX would do anything for money really, so they want to hire as less people as they want. Besides, 1 mod dealing with 60k people? Maybe like 1 mod dealing with 100 people because most of the active people (you may not know it) are 6-13 year olds that don't have email accounts or use their parents (or they don't know how to use email).
I do agree on how ROBLOX mods are speeding through things quickly though. However, you can't blame them. Copyrighted work on ROBLOX is NOT a serious issue. Lots of copyright stuff are uploaded onto ROBLOX everyday, and shirts are copied constantly, and there can't be a stop.
I know you are angry and I kind of feel bad for you, but the creation date doesn't tell everything and I don't think you can expect mods to remove the copier. The only thing you can do is tell other people that YOUR shirt is authentic, and maybe add some really hard to erase background thingy on your template.
Technology is not there yet, but it will reach there someday. I hope this post answers everything. Robots and ESPECIALLY humans can't detect if it is similar or copyrighted. The creation date is NOT really that good of an evidence because someone else could've uploaded something and deleted it, and the mods really don't care to inspect every time because copied shirts happen WAYYYY too much.
Mind dropping a 14,286 TIX, or ROBUX donation? I would really appreciate it! http://www.roblox.com/Donation-item?id=316907544 |

@Apackofsmarties "where is the source? They did not use a software to test the originality based on the "models database" which is non-existent"
Yes, I misread the statment of "all applicable provisions of the Digital Millennium". I thought it was some kind of software
"how will ROBLOX know that your image was from Google? They don't really have anything to detect with to see if it was ever uploaded on the internet."
My shirt is a SHIRT, NOT a T-SHIRT. No one makes shirts with images. The plain method is just coloring/shaping with adobe photoshop.
"Maybe like 1 mod dealing with 100 people because most of the active people (you may not know it) are 6-13 year olds"
There are currently 100M roblox accounts. And ReesecMcBlox(Becky) said that there are 6 million active users CURRENTLY. So ya it is still 1 to 60k. But it is more like 1 to 1k, because most roblox users won't encounter this situation.
"Copyrighted work on ROBLOX is NOT a serious issue. Lots of copyright stuff are uploaded onto ROBLOX everyday, and shirts are copied constantly, and there can't be a stop."
Just because it is largely abused by people who claim copyright when they use freemodels in their game doesn't mean it is not an serious matter. It is equivalent to being scammed
"creation date doesn't tell everything and I don't think you can expect mods to remove the copier."
I had a copyright protection in the template, I also had my group logo on the shirt (shirt was also in group store). It is clear, because the copier's shirt also had our logo on it
"Technology is not there yet, but it will reach there someday. Robots and ESPECIALLY humans can't detect if it is similar or copyrighted"
You don't know how advance the software technology is. In our school we have to submit our written research assessments on a program called safe assign, which matches phrases on other websites through the google database!

apparently you don't know how easy it is to copy clothing you take a random piece of clothing and look at its ID http://www.roblox.com/Youtube-Hoodie-item?id=182130031 change the ID to 1-3 numbers back, so change 182130031 to 182130030 since 182130030 isn't the template, then change it to 182130029 http://www.roblox.com/Youtube-Hoodie-item?id=182130029 |

I laughed reading this thread. Anything you upload onto this site is Roblox's property and cannot be copyrighted by anyone other than Roblox. Unfortunately, you agreed to these terms upon registration. By using the site, you are agreeing to those terms. I agree that clothing copying is an issue, but there is no way for you to copyright anything uploaded onto this site. Also, there is no way for moderators to tell if clothing was copied or not.
The copyright agent is to be used for actual copyright issues, such as your brand being falsely represented or copyrighted music being uploaded. Do not waste the copyright agent's time on your petty clothing copying issue. A real copyright claim will come from a man or woman representing the company they work (or self-employed) and will include all necessary parts of a copyright claim.
This whole thread was a joke to me. Thanks for making my day. |
