You're no better than the ones your executing if you believe they should die for their crimes.

Pretty much. The death penalty is ironic in its' own way in that the government kills a killer for "justice" for him killing. |

Repeated murderers and 'assault' offenders probably deserve it. Premeditated mass murder.
Any form of prolonged torture (including assault).
But it really isn't something you can always define by law. More something that varies on a case by case basis, which obviously can result in biased decisions so... |

It depends on the crime. But I do believe that there are times where it is needed to kill someone.

the biggest gift you can get is life, and having someone else take it away is horrible along with that, many people on death row have committed crimes 10 times less severe than people like the boston bomber some are even innocent

Except the death is likely much more humane. And really, there is a difference between killing and murdering. They may be similar actions with the same result, yet that doesn't mean they are the same on a moral ground.
Furthermore, execution is to prevent repeat occurrences.
(To clarify my original post, I believe the death penalty is sometimes necessary, but I do not support it currently. There will always be bias (i.e. racial) that gives stricter punishments to some but not to others. If the government was omnipotent and decisions were made by an impartial judge, then perhaps I'd be okay with it.) |

hold up before we go on rambling about how cruel it is
i'm just gonna point out the fact that if I were sent to jail for life (presumably 60+ years) i'd probably rather them just kill me
what's the point? staring at a cell wall getting violated per night by your new roommates faced with only your memories to pass the time, not to mention the terrible food and lack of privacy?
no thanks just kill me |

| If what they did was severe enough for one to deserve not being able to experience the possible joys of the life ahead of them, then so be it. |

Yet is there justice in that? And define killing and murdering, I kill a man because I believe it's a just cause, I murder a man because of my own greed..?

You can't murder somebody in self-defense, but you can kill them in self-defense.
Murder is often premeditated and done with sinister intent. |

heres why they shouldn't have it its obvious these criminals don't care if they die they take the risk they don't care ITS MUCH MORE punishing to put them in jail for they will have to live through there consqequences |

Right, but killing someone in self-defense is not a crime that warrants the death penalty and in fact, not a crime at all. What even brought the killing/murdering thing on?

I never said it was a crime that warrants the death penalty? I was explaining the difference between killing and murdering. |

i don't believe people should be given the choice to decide whether or not to take away someone's life i don't think you can ever justify killing someone as "payment for their crimes" because it doesn't really make you any better of a person, doesn't really make anything better
plus would sending them to prison for life not be a worse punishment than killing them? |

I disagree with the death penalty.
It should be like it is in Canada with a life sentence in prison, without death.
Because people do say 2 wrongs, does not make a right anyway.

[true story] there was once a man in texas who went into some sort of gas station place thingie and shot two workers dead (there were pretty much no customers in there) and the other worked three times in the face who (played ded? fainted?) but that last guy survived and then the guy who shot everyone was gonna face death penalty but the guy who was shot in the face insisted that he was not given the death penalty and let him live, he could sense that was good in him. that guy honestly inspires me.
