I recently bought a 2560x1080 monitor and I found it decent, besides the fact that most games I play don't really support that high of a ratio, so I'm forced to deal with black borders or stretched screens.
Should I have instead got a 1920x1080, or is a 2560x1080 better?

1920x1080 144Hz monitors are $300+... 2560x1080 60Hz monitor was $150...
I'm building a budget desktop, nothing too expensive.

| My laptop's monitor is 2560x1080 and the sad thing is that the GPU can't even handle the high resolution. fail |

| Wait, a laptop with that large of a resolution? That must be annoying to carry as a laptop, also my desktop handles it's native resolution on for example, HL2: EP2, on ultra settings (excluding anti-aliasing), at 80 FPS+, just for $350. |
