This method may be outdated but I've been around a while.
You can make this happen by placing the brick in a group with a humanoid object.
First: Name your brick "Head" Put it into a group, then insert a humanoid. Under the properties panel, put the humanoids maximum HP to 0 to remove the health bar Name the group what you want the text to display as.
This has always worked for me. |

Just check the wiki on billboardguis the wiki gives the script to you, You only got to add the name of the brick where it says to.
Keep moving for a argument, Cause in this case I'm the proof of concept that ignores you |

k9sofcatville are you using roblox studio?
... You should be using roblox studio. These are very basic concepts of building which come much more intuitively in the studio. |

| Ok. Yes I am using Roblox Studio. I am a very weird 11 year old. When I set my mind to something, I can't stop. I WILL do it no matter how much pain it causes me. And with this, I am very frustrated. But I can't sleep until I figure this out. Lets take this step by step. How do I name a brick? |

Lets say your Brick is named, Part.
local Part = game.Workspace.Part
Part.Name = "NewPart"

Hah, I like your attitude. Ill walk you through it.
In roblox studio you will want to have some certain workspaces open.
Go to the Veiw category on the top toolbar and ensure that the Explorer panel and the Properties panel are both open. These are integral to building.
To name a brick, select it with your mouse and look at its properties. You can change the "Name" value by typing what you want into the input textbox. Once named, you should see it change in the Explorer panel. In order to get what you need done here, name it "Head".
Now you need to place it in a group. This is easiest done by copy-pasting your "Head" brick, selecting both of them and right clicking. Select "Group" from the menu that appears. They should appear under a red icon named "Model" in the explorer panel.
You can now delete the copy of your "Head" brick by selecting it in the explorer and pressing 'backspace'. Your brick should now be the only thing in the model.
Finally you need to add a humanoid into the group. In the explorer panel, right click the red "Model" group and hover over "Insert Object". From there, click "Humanoid." A humanoid object should now be in your group, and the word "Model" should hover over your "Head" brick, along with a green health bar.
To remove this health bar, select the humanoid and look at its properties. Find "MaxHealth" and set that value to 0.
The last thing you do is re-name the group from "Model" to whatever you want!
Happy building amigo :) |
