@Qliphoth
"PSX" was the codename for the original PlayStation which stood for "PlayStation Experiment".
In the same sense GCN was the codename for the GameCube, standing for "GameCube Nintendo". |

"Qlip is actually correct."
Do I need to cite my sources, or are you too lazy to Google what I said yourself?
The PSX was in fact the codename for the original PlayStation. |

@gentle
"the virtual boy is infact the vr32
the nintendo 64 is the nintendo ultra 64"
"Ultra 64" is not an acronym. If VR32 really was the codename for the Virtual Boy, then yes, that would be the proper acronym.
"sony calls it a Play Station 1, nintendo calls their console a Game Cube"
No... it's the PlayStation and the GameCube. Not the Play Station 1 and the Game Cube.
@Mbib
"Qlip is right. source: wikipedia"
"Sony's North American division, known as Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA),[25] originally planned to market the new console under the alternative branding "PSX" following the negative feedback regarding "PlayStation" in focus group studies. Early advertising prior to the console's launch in North America referenced PSX, but the term was scrapped before launch."

"I'm not going to call my Gamecube the Gamecube Nintendo"
Well, you shouldn't, be that would be stupid.
