| I was able to find one of the few online highschools (or just highschools in general) that offered an Epidemiology course. It's not even really them that does it, it's a class in another school that I take through my school, if that makes any sense at all. |

"were u referred by a counselor to that school or something?"
Nope, I had to manually search. A lot of the counselors at my old school barely had any idea what Epidemiology was in the first place, so they didn't really help with that. All the work was worth it, though. Studying Epidemiology is something I've wanted to do since I was really little, so all of that hard work is paying off. |

"how do labs work if its online?"
Sometimes I have to go into an actual classroom to do labs, but most of the time I can do it all at home. They send a huge lab kit with facemasks and everything, even some pretty questionable bacteria. It's pretty cool being able to do most of the work at home. |

After this school year, two years. I think they only have two tiers of this Epidemiology class, but I could be wrong. If they have a third, I'm definitely doing that. |

There's an unreliable one already, but its success rate is nowhere near 100%. I wish I could be the one to discover the successful cure though, that'd be a dream come true. |

"what do they usually do to treat ebola right now?"
There's not a lot they can do All they really can do is keep the person alive until it goes away. Sometimes that experimental cure will help, but it's no guarantee. They usually just treat for infection, keep the person hydrated, and do blood transfusions to make up for the scary high blood loss. Sometimes they'll do organ transfusions too, because they can get pretty damaged. They've also started using melatonin recently, which strengthens the endothelial cells, and prevents the hemorrhaging. |

"where does it lie as far as deadliest diseases go?"
In terms of mortality rate, it's up there. But that's if we're going off of its deadliest strain (it used to be called ZEBOV, but they changed it recently). It has a mortality rate somewhere in the 90%, but it's not very contagious. You also have to factor in the hot zone location, which is usually in really remote areas, which have terrible medical treatment. At the same time, its location prevents it from spreading so fast. The reason why the last outbreak (which was a ZEBOV outbreak, I'm pretty sure), infected people so fast. It hit major population centers. Malaria's a good example of an extremely deadly disease, but only because of its prominent location. It can be easily treated with regular doses of anti-Malarials, but since the hot zones are usually remote, it's not too easy to get those anti-Malarials out there. Sorry for the wall of text, I get carried away sometimes. |
