My ROBLOX Studio crashes quite frequently. To be specific, let's state a few things that crash me for sure:
- When I use player:LoadCharacter() on myself - Sometimes when a model is inserted, even if the model is a mere one part - And just occasionally when it shouldn't, but this is usually minimal
I've tried a few fixes after searching up. These fixes include:
- Resetting ROBLOX Studio settings from the Settings itself - Reinstalling ROBLOX Studio (and ROBLOX)
If you know any other fixes or a way to dull down these crashes, please let me know.
I am on a (somewhat) old Windows 10 PC, but ROBLOX runs quite fine so I don't see how there should be a problem.
Thanks, smeekiller |

sometimes, my ROBLOX Studio crashes if I put a "While true do" script in my game
While true do -stuff- end
If this is what's causing the problem, I think that it's because there is no wait in that script so ROBLOX studio repeats it over and over again, hundreds of times just in one fraction of a second

Quick note I forgot to mention:
It is very rare that my ROBLOX Studio actually gives me the 'We're sorry!' message, and instead just freezes. It applies to the :LoadCharacter(). |

| Even if you had an infinite loop in your script, ROBLOX's Lua engine doesn't allow one thread to hog all resources after 20 seconds or so. |

| Yeah, while true do scripts without waits definitely crash or freeze ROBLOX Studio. But I know this is not the problem; after scripting for 2 years I've avoided leaving while true do's without wait in them. |

May I also say that after using :LoadCharacter(), it takes about one second or so for the game to crash. I haven't seen any errors, however.
I use LoadCharacter in two of my games, so this is a pain for testing them... |

I'm going to try to uninstall ROBLOX (and ROBLOX Studio) again, but this time I'll check my AppData, Program Files, and related folders for remnants of the program.
I'll delete those then try re-installing... Usually it is best to rid of all of the files. |

I finished up, and eventually noticed that I still can't stop it from crashing with :LoadCharacter(). The model insert crash is random, so I've yet to test that.
Once again, any help would be highly appreciated. |

I can't even enter my game in Play Solo/Test mode now at all... This applies to my other games as well... I can use Run (don't enter as a character, instead just run scripts and physics) just fine, meaning there are no scripts casuing me to freeze.
This is getting tedious and annoying '-' |

Not fixed, but to prevent any errors in the future I'm done messing with it.
If you know any fixes, you can still mention them, but I'll probably stick with what I got. |
