| TL;DR: For a couple of weeks now I've been worried about a certain thing virtually constantly and nothing helps because people won't shut up about it online. It's seriously bothering me because I think about it all the time and just get upset. What do. |

| Also the people around me IRL won't stop talking about it either. What do. |

If something agitates you kill it, it's the only real way to avoid it. Of course you could deal with your inner emotions instead, but that's what losers do.

@Tokanaki
I really cannot see how this is a bait and switch at all, but okay.
@Monark
It's not just on OT.
@Mike
It's kind of hard to ignore it when it's talked about around you on a daily basis both online and offline, and it's mentally affecting you to the point where you feel a ton of anxiety over it after years of not really caring, which is the strangest part.
@Bam
It's not over fandoms or anything like that. If I posted the actual reason, I'd get a bunch of joke responses and called an edgelord. |

@Noise
I've tried to ignore the issue and calm myself down, but nothing seems to really work. I was kind of asking for advice on how to work on ignoring things and/or just deal with a lot of stress in general. |

@Mike
I can't police what random blogs run by multiple people on the Internet say, nor can I do that with classmates. I have to admit that this is mostly a personal problem. I'm responsible for getting better with it. |

| You can't remove the worst things in life by ignoring them or else they will shift to the back of your mind and wreck havoc. |

You should never ignore or avoid a problem, you need to deal with things at their source.

@Mike
It's a very general concept, which is maybe why people talk about it so much. But weirdly enough that seems to really have only started right when I began to be bothered by it specifically.
@Md
I've tried facing the issue head-on. It doesn't work. I'm fairly certain the only way I can get better with this at the moment is by just not freaking out over it and letting it work itself out. For years I could hear people talk about it and be fine, never really affected me. Maybe I was just repressing my actual thoughts about it, because I can now vividly remember instances when people talked about it yet I was fine at the time? It's complicated. Just a really awful feeling when something you used to be okay with now bothers you constantly. |

Sorry, I'm not really comfortable with talking about it, I don't think.
@Noise
Please read my response to Md, I don't want to be rude and copy-paste the post, but my response to him is basically the same as what I'd say in reply to you.

| Well the only way to let us be able to help you is to tell us what your problem is. Otherwise, the best we can do is give general advice that may not even apply to your problem. |
