1) The story so far...
You are a member of a Norse society; A Viking, as most of the world would call you. You serve your family and settlement through raids on neighboring lands and bringing much needed supplies back. Like many countless times before, you soon find yourself once again stepping out into the sea with the crew, unknowing as to where, or who, you will be pillaging.
Shortly into the journey, however, your ship is swept into a storm and crashes onto unfamiliar shores, with only a few members of your raiding party and precious little cargo surviving the crash. Will you go against the odds and try pillaging the local area with what little you have, or attempt to return home empty-handed? You'll have to survive the journey first.

2) Classes
In Northman's Raid, you will have a few choices of class to select. This will determine your role in the group as well as your combat capabilities/specialities.

Weapon Availability; Short swords, hand axes, maces, long swords. Dual wield capability
Abilities;
1) Berserker Brew - Your next two attacks are trippled, but the target is chosen randomly. CAN HARM ALLIES 50 Stamina
2) Flurry - Strike out with both weapons for a total of 4 hits. 30 Stamina
3) Whirlwind - Spin with both weapons out, dealing damage to all nearby enemies. 45 Stamina

-Pathfinder
Desc; A scout, the pathfinder helps the group scan their surrounds to know where is safe, and where is potential loot.
Weapon Availability; Short bows, long bows, short swords, daggers, crossbows
Abilities;
1) Reconnaissance - When not in combat, quickly take a scan of nearby areas, highlighting any areas of interest for your group.
2) Piercing shot - With a ranged weapon, strike through multiple enemies. 30 Stamina
3) Volley - You let loose a total of 6 shots with a ranged weapon for triple damage, or regular damage on up to three targets. 55 Stamina

-Warrior
Desc; A frontline fighter and defender of Viking society, you serve front and center with extra protection to make sure your group survives.
Weapon Availability; Long swords, maces, axes. Shield capabilities
Abilities;
1) Taunt - You let out a feral roar and make fun of your enemies' mothers, making them target you. 15 Stamina
2) Guard - You hold your shield high; The next five attacks received are greatly reduced. 30 Stamina
3) Lunge and Swipe - Lunge forward quickly followed by second bonus attack. 25 Stamina

-Sapper
Desc; Where most would look down on your tactics, stealth and deception are your friends. Slip behind enemy lines both in and out of combat to aid your group.
Weapon availability; Daggers, hatchets, shot bows, dual wield capabilities.
Abilities;
1) Smoke bomb - Throw smoke at your enemies to decrease their chance to land attacks for the next two turns. - 30 Stamina
2) Flank and Shank - Side step your enemy and strike 2 hits dealing 1.5x damage each. - 25 Stamina
3) Pinpointed - Mark an enemy for slaughter; All attacks on this target by all members are doubled for the duration of the fight. 50 Stamina
4) Surprise! - PASSIVE; Any attack made to enemies at full health deal double damage.

3) Perks
In addition to choosing your class, you also get a Perk selection to further customize your role in supporting the group.

Load Bearer - Gain double the inventory spaces to carry needed supplies for the group.

Linguistically Gifted - Knowing multiple languages and changing your appearance can make you pass as Non-Nordic, allowing you to safely travel and trade in larger towns and cities.

Herbalism Master - The world is teeming with wild plants, and it takes the right mind to know how to use them. Gain the ability to make poisons and potions for your party.

Leader - MUST BE ELECTED BY GROUP. The leader chooses where the raid goes, and who they raid. Primarily, the leader will be the one who responds to story-related actions for the group. Stacks with chosen perk.

Protected - Gain the most from your armor, increasing it's effectiveness and decreasing all damage dealt to you by 5%

Golden - You're the lucky charm of the group. With you around, gold seems more plentiful and rare items appear more often. Party gains 5% increase to gold; You gain 10%

Devoted to Freya - You pray to Freya and she answers. All healing received by your party is increased 10%

Devoted to Odin - You pray to Odin and he answers. Your max Stamina is increased by 50.

4) Combat Stats
Northman's Raid's combat system is one that heavily relies on your stats as a character, which affect all aspects of how well you perform. Listed shortly below are the key stats to NR displayed during combat and how they affect you;

Health: Your well being as a whole. It reaches zero, and you're dead.

Speed: Determines the order of attack in combat. Highest speed means first in line.

Stamina: Needed to function class abilities. Stamina repleneshes 20 per basic attack, with a max of 100 before boosts applied.

Damage: Tells how effective/strong weapons are, before boosts applied.

Armor: Slightly reduces physical damage received. Pieces include; helmet, torso, legs, and feet.

4.5) Leveling Up and Leveling Stats
Attacking and completing successful raids on settlements will earn you and your crew experience points, which will help you to level up.
After leveling up, you will be given a selection of new abilities, or ways to upgrade current abilities. In addition, leveling up allows you to spend 5 points directly upgrading the following stats/perks;

Constitution: Each point increases max health by 10

Dexterity: Increases critical hit chance by 0.5% per point

Cunning: Increases critical damage bonus by 5% per point.

Agility: Increases generation of stamina through basic attacks by 5 per point. (0/5 Max)

Endurance: Increases max stamina by 10 per point. (0/5 Max)

Strength: Increases base damage by 2.5% per point. (0/10 Max)

Protection: Increases armor value by 2.5% per point. (0/10 Max)

Speed: Determines order of attack. Primarily achieved/given through gear.

5) Exploring/Travel
When not pillaging a settlement, you and your group will be able to engage in 'Free RP' mode, in which you may freely explore and talk with your crew. Travel will end once the selected Leader has [Set up Camp], at which time you are able to activate non-passive, non-combat abilities and study your immediate surroundings. Travel resumes once aforementioned leader selects a course of direction.
A *Heads Up* will be announced anytime a location of interest comes within sight of the raid during free travel. Traveling to these locations also ends free travel as more of a 'story driven' aspect is activated, likely to lead up to combat, loot, or both.
Combat may also be triggered unannounced during free travel by wild life and similar advisories. At this time, travel will be paused as combat is initiated. *Setting up camp eliminates any chance of wild attack*

6) Combat
In Northman's Raid, you should, hopefully, be finding yourselves often attacking small villages and settlements for loot. Upon entering combat, you will have full Stamina, though Health stays the same as before the fight. After order of attack for both NPC's and Players has be determined, the battle will begin. Based on the order, each combatant will be able to activate one ability, item, or move during each turn.
To activate an ability, simply enter [Use (Item/Ability)]. Non-special abilities are;
[Use Basic Attack] - Strikes your enemy for weapon damage. Gain 20 Stamina
[Pass] - Pass your turn. Gain 30 Stamina.
[Flee] - Attempt to flee from the battle. Success affected by speed.

7) Death
Should you die in battle, your raid will have the chance to revive you. Setting up camp will revive all dead members with 25 health. Revives may also be attained through other, more efficient means as the RP progresses.
Should the leader die, camp will instantly be set up after combat is complete. This will cause an evacuation of any current settlement raid in progress. The game is over if the entire group dies without being revived.

8) Inventory and Loot
Each player will have 8 inventory spaces (16 with perk) to store extra gear, potions, ect. Any items no longer wanted can be 'scrapped' and converted directly into gold, which then can be used to purchase items from traveling merchants. (Or city merchants with perk.) All gold earned through raids will be given to each member of the group. This excludes items scrapped for gold in one's inventory. Items currently being worn do not take up any inventory slots.

9) Character Sheet/Sign Up
As the titles says, this is just the sign up sheet. Because of the nature of this 'RP'(G), I will only be selecting a small group. When selecting, I will take into consideration what class/character builds work well together.
(Starting gear will be assigned after the RP has begun)

Well bloody hell, lot of writing and formula work on my phone for what appears to be naught.
Would this be better with less of a Nordic setting and more of a 'traditional' dungeon crawler, or is the whole concept in general just unappealing?

The 'tank' class would be the Warrior, having a taunt ability as well as guard for reduced damage.

Oh good, I'm thinking it may just come down to being the first 4/5 people who decide to make a character, so it's good to see a healer class already.

Almost to the point that I may just have you create a few more characters and just have this as a solo ISRP, kind of.

I suppose a legend mark wouldn't hurt, if you want to explain in your bio how you earned it.
Ex: Ivan 'Quillback'

Just type in 'Viking name generator', or Norse, (or Norwegian names in general, probably) into Google. That ought to give you a wide range of options. Generic options no doubt, but options.

Is there any chance at all for me to get a version of this ISRP where I don't need to be with a group?

Depending upon how this one turns out, I have been considering other possible ideas/themes with the same concept.
So maybe not this exact RP(G), but perhaps a similar one in the future; And as for being solo, do you mean you having a small group of characters, or one char. completely solo? If the former, then quite possibly, yes.

I was thinking completely solo. But if that's not possible, then I'd be fine with a small group of NPCs. Is that okay with you?

I could try completely solo, maybe add the feature of one NPC companion to choose as support. Otherwise, I fear it would restrict the number of class options trying to make solo survivability. (And me controlling a group seems like a nightmare; I'd be rooting for both sides for combat, pretty much.)

One NPC companion seems like it'd be perfect. Maybe, as it goes on, I can recruit more companions. I'll get to work on my CS, if you're sure you're fine with me going completely solo +1 NPC?

Ohh, if/when I create that, it won't be of this same theme. I'm not quite sure when I'll do that; Probably after I give this a chance first.
If you want to prepare the background and other basic bio information though, I'm thinking something a bit more (sadly) generic and I suppose Diablo-like.

(I'm halfway done with my CS, but I'll be inactive for early parts of next week and as such don't want to start something and then drop it for half a week so I'll hold off on posting it until I'm able to be back online here).
