"reverse cold war"
Incoming unrealistic alternate history! Beware!
The Russian royal tsars are never overthrown and leads to Russia having to become a constitutional monarchy and having a prime minister as the person ruling Russia. China also has the same thing happen to it, a constitutional monarchy.
Meanwhile the Great Depression occurs in 1930's and leads to worse civil unrest in United States. Communist American Party leads a coup on the now failing US government and replaces the United States under a communist government, becoming the United Socialist States of America or USSA for short by 1936.
FDR probably never rises to power. The Cold War eventually is fought between the USSA and Russia. USSA creates a alternate similar alliance like the Warsaw Pact, but instead named the Lima Pact, making Latin American nations aligned to American influence of communism.
Okay enough alt history. I think you get the point. |

"but then what about alternate history WWII?"
World War II would be very different, in fact the USSA would be still neutral throughout the war until the Japanese sees the threat of American communism in the Pacific and then bombs Pearl Harbor. Then the USSA would have to then get involved in World War II, but instead of USSA focusing also on what is going on in Europe, the USSA only focuses on Japan.
The war in Europe would be more brutal, a longer time for France to become liberated from Germany, and it probably last a bit longer than usual the war in general in Europe. But eventually too Germany will fall to Russian advancement and British forces ending the war in Europe.
And USSA will probably of course drop nukes on Japan, but not just on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, but also on Tokyo to show the Americans superiority over Japan.
When Japan surrenders its royal family is overthrown and the Japanese government is set up under communism, resulting in Japan literally becoming a puppet state to the USSA. |
