why can't people just use micro usb mini usb has proven itself to be less reliable than micro usb and it has really come back to slap me in the face because now my keyboard's detachable cable port (mini usb) is already starting to fail |

Different USB sizes have different capabilites. The larger the size, the faster data can be transferred.

"Different USB sizes have different capabilites. The larger the size, the faster data can be transferred." that has got to be the dumbest thing i've heard today, no offense the speed depends on whether it's usb 1.0/2.0/3.X, etc. |

no you don't know what you are talking about, mini usb sucks and should die
imagine HOW GREAT THE WORLD WOULD BE if we could disconnect the cable we use to charge our phones from its usb adapter and use it to transfer picture instead
also yes vineshroom is ALSO correct |

Vine, that too, but do you wonder why they are smaller/larger? If speed/capability didn't matter, why do they still use the big ones? Use logic. it does matter, as a mini USB can't transfer data between hard drives as fast as a regular size USB. Most USB's used now are 2.0/3.0. 1.0 is depreciated.

I was hoping that all USB would support all versions.

they are larger because they are older and thus crappier |

Lol, just looked it up. The only difference is a slight speed increase and it doesn't break as easily.

"If speed/capability didn't matter, why do they still use the big ones?" because it's a lot less convenient for USB devices and it costs a lot of money for all those manufacturers to switch to using micro/mini USB?
"Use logic." i am using logic, if anything, you aren't
"it does matter, as a mini USB can't transfer data between hard drives as fast as a regular size USB." yes it can, just because the port is bigger on USB Type A doesn't mean it's any faster
"Most USB's used now are 2.0/3.0. 1.0 is depreciated." and what are you trying to accomplish by saying that everyone knows that USB 1.0 is obsolete, hell it was even obsolete when it came out in fact, PS/2 is still (to this day) the best for keyboards as it supports full NKRO and it has higher data transfers because it doesn't poll to check and see if a device is there, it knows that it's there |
