jobs that are minimum wage are literally meant to be entry level jobs
you aren't supposed to live off of them
if the minimum wage is raised to where you can sustain a life off of it, more people are going to start working at McDonalds which is going to lower the incentive to get a higher education, and raise the prices of their terrible hamburgers lol
many many more reasons why a higher minimum wage is bad |

No, correction, minimum wage was originally put into place to be a LIVING WAGE due to the circumstances of the '20s. Now it wasn't supposed to provide people with great lives and were still meant to be able to provide someone with a living wage to afford a low end appartment and be able to get to college.
Minimum wages DO NOT provide this, and yes, while it isn't YOUR fault that it's like this it is the governments. |

| Beautiful logic. But that's the exact problem. Minimum wage does not provide enough to pay for that and therefore you have a lot of students on government aid, which is NOT goot for the economy. That's the consequence of having a minimum wage that is not a living wage among other htings. |

Minimum wage is living wage.
Why they implemented this: To ensure people could actually live and do stuff other than live.
What they should have really done: Make it where it adjusts to the inflation.
Also, why can't we tax the rich? How much is 26% to them? Out of a million a year, that's still 740K a year, which is enough to buy two houses. |

Because they can afford it, and will still be making hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars more than those on Welfare.
Also a huge reason why there are a lot of people are on welfare is because minimum wage is so low. I can almost guarentee you that one of the consequences of raising minimum wage would be less people on government aid while the consequences of a lower minimum wage is more people on govt. aid among other things. |

look being a socialist country wont help the country we give money to the poor and they dont get jobs the homeless can get jobs if they wanted to but they arent motivated because they get paid by welfare it wont help anything if the rich gets taxed more
ALSO this is what could happen if the minimum gets raised mcdonalds has 20 workers they are getting paid 7.10(or whatever minumum wage is for your state) minimum wage gets raised so now mcdonalds is paying those 20 workers 15$ a hour so its either raise their items to make more money to pay for the workers OR instead of having 20 workers being paid 15$ they cut their work force in half so itd be 10 workers instead getting paid 15$ and working more hours than before
you cant expect the minimum wage to get raised without there being consequences |

Zach, I don't think you understand one thing about this.
Minimum wage, is for people who work.
Not for sweaty bible-thumping neckbeards who complain about it.
Plus, with more money comes with the better opportunity for college. I can tell you that a degree pays more, but how are you going to pay for the degree without having to get some stupid student loan that makes you in debt eternally? |

1) Excellent, to talk about your point in min wage. To ease your concerns, Economists have done studies, and at a minimum wage of 15 an hour, they only need to raise their prices by something like 5 or 10 cents per burger and they will recoup their losses. I think that's a fair "loss" for the benefits a higher minimum wage would bring with time such as a bigger middle class to replenish it's dying numbers and getting a lot more people off of government aid, which would be wonderful for the government's spending.
It'd also be helpful to know that in the few cities that have implemented minimum wage, unemployment rates have actually gone DOWN.
2) Go back to 10th grade because it's obvious that you're talking politics without any knowledge on what makes our country. Our country IS socialist, well, Capitalist-Socialist. Mininmum wage on it's own is a socialistic system, among many many other systems in our country, some of which you and the rich benefit off of and again, by raising the taxes on the rich we STILL would be very capitalistic, as those hard working rich people will STILL make way more money than the lower classes.

im pretty sure i know how this will play out the people in that state thats getting its minimum wage raised to will either lose more jobs than it had before or prices on items will skyrocket, that includes the college debt maybe even both will happen
pay attention in class, cause they teach you about this |

how the hell is minimum wage not being able to be lived off of
just marry a guy and combine your money? if you make 20-30k a year you then make 50-60k and that's not too shabby??
like honestly, maybe people should stop being lazy and actually use logic to their advantage |

"It'd also be helpful to know that in the few cities that have implemented minimum wage, unemployment rates have actually gone DOWN." x2.
Please read before you make more idiotic statements.
Also it's funny you mention that and then you go off on the long stale rhetoric about socialism when our country is comprised out of many socialistic systems and has been for a LONG time. |
