After today's update they seem all rigid and jittery, it's broken every game I'm working on. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Well without PGS all the objects do is fling, and all of my games were working this morning. I just sent a support ticket in to info@roblox, hopefully it's a quick patch.

| Hi Leitris. We reverted the change to the BodyMovers on Friday, but we would like to track down the issues you were having. Could you please send us your place and repro steps? Thanks |

| actually, there is another annoying thing with the new physics - jumping whilst walking seems to stop you from moving(at least on smooth terrain). |

@chefdeletat
Should I send the links over an email to support, or should I just pm them to you? If it makes it any easier, here are links to each game I have that rely heavily on BodyMovers.
http://www.roblox.com/games/316419762/Untitled-Kart-Game http://www.roblox.com/games/281161796/Untitled-Game-Testing http://www.roblox.com/games/254489299/Top-Down-Dynamic-Camera
I'm not sure what to say about reproducing the issue, as I don't know where it stems from. All I know is that whenever the changes were made it screwed up each one of those. The last two use BodyGyros for character rotation, which was really rigid and jittery before the reversion. The first game relies on BodyGyro,BodyVelocity, & BodyPosition. Though, when I removed the BodyGyro it functioned correctly. I have a feeling it has to do with BodyGyros in specific, though I could be wrong.

@chefdeletat
I should also mention I have a whitelist setup on the kart game, so I've gone ahead and added your account to the whitelist. Please pm me or reply to this thread if you have any more questions or requests.

We looked into the issues you were having. We decided to re-enable the BodyMover change from Friday. The fix to your issues with PGS body movers is to bring the D factor down on BodyGyro. High D is usually a source of instabilities.
Last Friday we introduced changes to the way BodyMovers behave under PGS to be more similar to the old solver. Unfortunately this means that some high values of D will cause instabilities. |

Thanks for checking it out. I'll do some fiddling and see if I can get it in working condition!

It looks like the issue with my kart involved the MaxForce property. I had most of them set to math.huge, which apparently doesn't fly with this new change. I've made a few adjustments and now it seems to be working. Thanks again chefdeletat!

Woops I meant MaxTorque, though it did effect both MaxTorque and MaxForce.

@chef I have a bone to pick with roblox aswell. My admin script errors a nil value when I am trying to index a table of dictionarys, rather I use a numerical or generic for to iterate. I tried the following piece of code:
for i, v in next, Commands do if v.Calls then
and i also tried
for i = 1, #Commands do if Commands[i].Calls then
And I know very well this isn't my fault, as it worked until recently. Sorry for the attitude, please fix this, and good day.
Hello, I am Zaxerion. I like to make cool things to show off in Script Builder! |
