Hello guys, I'm really frustrated.
From last Friday, I've been having an unbelievable amount of lag in games. This had never happened before, so I contacted ROBLOX to see if they could fix it. After a weeks long talk and a few tests, they concluded that my "Packet Loss" was too high at 14% and they told me to power-cycle my router to fix it.
I did so, and no luck. For the last few days I've been all over the internet looking for fixes, but I there seems to be no-one who knows how to.
Considering all the computer geniuses on ROBLOX, as a last resort I come to the fourms to see if anyone can help me. I'm highly tempted to call up my ISP and ask them what the problem is. I get packet loss only when playing ROBLOX and no where else. I use a wireless internet connection which has been working fine for two years until this problem began last week. I measured the packet loss by cmd:
ping 8.8.8.8 -n 100 13% packet loss when ingame
Any help!?

UPDATE #1:
I've tried using an Ethernet cable directly from my router to my laptop and it doesn't give me lag. The problem is, my router is downstairs and my laptop is in my room,

Have you tried contacting your provider? I have some solutions.
1. Try a wifi booster 2. The modem may be old (Yes this causes the modem to work "too" hard) 3. Try a speed test and share with friends at school to see if it is just you. 4. Try to switch off your router from the plug, wait 10 seconds the restart it. 5. Clean the router of dust. |

Get the wired routers. I think they spread more signal around your house. I have a old NetGear router that my family had for a long time, and the wifi in my house is decent.
Is this about the wifi or the computer lagging? |

Hi,
I'm 98% sure it's the WiFi. It was working fine a few weeks ago.

UPDATE #7:
My ISP was horrible. They said that they don't support gamers who worry about ping and stuff. I've been talking to ROBLOX support for two weeks, and I'm waiting for their reply.

^ Alright, tell me how it goes. The good news is that my contract ends this month, so I'll probably get an ISP who offers around 50-200mb Download Speed.

Found this on a site which may help. "Are there any household appliances between your computer and the wireless router? Although unlikely, I suppose some stray waves can be interfering with your packet communications. While on the topic of packets, what exactly makes you think you are having a "packet loss" problem? The fact you are the only one experiencing the problem allows us to remove the modem and wireless router as likely culprits, and as jdog2pt0 said, checking for firmware/driver updates is a good start. I am not aware of any diagnostics you can perform on your network card, but you can start by disconnecting the antenna (if possible) and make sure everything is nice and snug when you plug the antenna back in.
As far as your Netalyzr results go, the items in red are minor and can be shrugged off. The only I might be concerned with is the "network buffer measurements". It states your results are a bit high, maybe run that app on another computer on your network and see if the results for that category are similar." |

Router ----[Packet Loss]---- Computer ----[abnormal Packet loss]------- Roblox If this helped at all, It's not your router, its how your computer handles the packets that it sends to roblox and that roblox sends back to it. |

| I might know it... QoS Problems... Since ALL problems are fixed, router, ISP and test of other applications, it MUST be the packet. I'll try testing the problems. I might send my WireShark results.. ROBLOX uses UDP ########### ports.. I will be filtering the others. BRB. |
