This is TL;DR by the way, before you post it. Feel free to read if you want. They are visiting my town, not many people know as far as I know. The school is allowing people to take pictures with them. Going to hand each of them this message on paper.

Hello presidential candidate,

My name is Ryan (Whiped Out) and before I explain my purpose of this letter and take your very appreciated time, I would like to state that I am neither a republican or a democrat. I base my conclusions about society on premises that are not statistically and philosophically flawed, but on validated and credited information, studies, and review using scientific approaches. This is also known as Political science, the study politics using evidence, compared to politics, which says what works based on non-validated speculation.

My reason for writing this letter was to address my concern that in our current system we do not respect the Modernization Theory, which is why the United States is currently decaying. Modernization theory has shown and states the world over and over again that the societies with the strongest economies and democracies are the societies that balance political, economical, and social boundaries. In our current system, our government has received too much power, has no repercussions, is shaded in secrecy, and in our economic system we have a theft of 45.5% of all annual income by under 200 people. But we have to ask, what caused this? In our current political system, there are many flaws that have allowed the government to become corrupt and be used as a tool, such as politicians are not held accountable for the promises they make, special interests groups do not represent industries because they represent individual companies, people are not informed, and bribery is technically legal inside the United States. This outcome can be proved and shown by the falling middle class that was once powered by the majority of jobs created by small business. From the exploitation of foreign workers, small U.S Business, U.S Currency, corrupting our political system, and participating in tax evasion, the majority of jobs have gone over seas and have disappeared. So what is the outcome? Because of the decrease in jobs and lack of competition for big business, we have lower wages, worse working conditions, higher college education costs to compete for jobs, higher prices, and less friendly consumer products then ever before. In result of the lack of success in the people's involvement in government and the economy, our generation has lost the positive and negative reinforcement that made us feel like Americans. Our generation has become the most unmotivated, unguided, most unmoral generation of all time. When our generation becomes the elderly, we will be the generation of sm0kaaars, druggi3s, welfare patients, drinkars, technology addicts, education hating, people. In conclusion, these statistics have come about.

1. 19,000,000,000,000 dollars in debt to pay for social programs that we can't afford.
2. 800 billion dollars each year to help special interests of big business
3. 125 billion phone calls tapped by the U.S government.
4. Princeton University states that the public vote accounts for .0005% of decisions based on 30 year study.
5. The top 100 companies profit 4.4 Trillion dollars annual from lobbying
6. The US military budget is bloated and enormous, bigger than the military budgets of the next twelve major states.
7. 400 American Billionaires are worth $2 trillion dollars.
8. We lock up more people then the rest of the world combined, which in all, has been in the name of profit as each state makes federal income based on how many drug criminals they can lock up.
9. We are more worried about building a wall for the borders, then worrying about the jobs themselves.
10. China has passed us in GDP, and the rest of the world is soon to come.

And about our generation....

1. 50% of marriages become a divorce, while another 25% are unhappy.
2. 12.7% unemployment rate for youth 18-29 years old.
3. 53% of kids at age 6 get a cell phone.
4. Average American watched 5 hours of TV.
5. 98% of children at age 10 can not name 3 animals in there local environment, but can name over 1000 company logos.

The question I would like to ask is, what are you planning to do as a presidential candidate to address the neglect of the social factor, the very factor that helped refer to ourselves as.. "We the people"?

Obviously trolling and flame bait, and definitely off-topic, but I love debates.

"50% of marriages become a divorce, while another 25% are unhappy."
Definitely the government's fault.

"12.7% unemployment rate for youth 18-29 years old."
If only education were more strict, right?

"53% of kids at age 6 get a cell phone."
Oh the horror! People learning how to use the most sophisticated tools for pretty much anything at such a young age!

"Average American watched 5 hours of TV."
Definitely the government's fault. Also, five hours of TV total is nothing. Most people I would say watch at least five hours a year, which is at least fifty times your estimated value.

"98% of children at age 10 can not name 3 animals in there local environment, but can name over 1000 company logos."
Name three age-ten children who can't name three animals in their local environment yet can name literally over one thousand companies before you say "98%".

Never said it was the government's fault. Should of read what I said.

"12.7% unemployment rate for youth 18-29 years old."

Education, job's, and culture, is what created productive members of society.

"53% of kids at age 6 get a cell phone."

No, that was not the point being made. I was not saying that because they use nice tools. nice strawman fallacy.

Is the only thing you attack is that section?

"98% of children at age 10 can not name 3 animals in there local environment, but can name over 1000 company logos."

You forgot, you are not much of an arguer are you?

Name three age-ten children who can't name three animals in their local environment yet can name literally over one thousand companies before you say "98%"."

Did you forget this one too?

The tl;dr of this thread:

The citizens (Me included) are to blame for our government's position - The slobby, lazy, willfully uneducated people who are rejecting good behavior and blaming it on the government, then growing up to become the government.

I do know how studies work, or at least that one. People make up a story, and claim it is a fact.

Do you know 3 age-10 children who do not know three different local animals but have memorized the logos of ONE THOUSAND companies?
You say it is a fact, proven through study, but do you know it for yourself, or did you just claim it?

that is not what a study is lol.

A study is a review of thousands of people randomly selected from areas across a designated location, like the U.S. This is known as random sampling

I avoid your question because it is stupid. a couple children I know as not a representative sample of the larger population. It is also known as a biased sample. A sample, which can only be done through a study, must be representative of it's whole, which peaks at 15,000 people with a marginal error of +1 -1 of the percentage. Like, if a study says 50% of people like animals, the range of where the true percentage lays will be from 49-51%.

a few children is not representative, as a few children is not representative of 300,000,000 people. AND, it is children I personally know which can be subjected to factors such as class, ethnicity, region, culture

I'm sorry, I'm bored.

"AND, it is children I personally know which can be subjected to factors such as class, ethnicity, region, culture"

Because 98% is highly affected by that. I don't know anyone who knows over 1000 companies, myself included.

Are you questioning my right to ignorance?

I thought this whole thread was about the citizens of the US exercising that right.

No, because that is what makes up ANY biased sample of a population. That does not mean it exists or doesnt exist just because of your personal experiences lol.
