I'm new to ROBLOX, and I read the messages that everyone gets when they join. I played the ROBLOX High School event and saw someone flaming others for ODing and using harsh language, and then others who were ODing. I only reported the one flaming and assumed that the ones ODing would receive warnings/bans also since the moderators would be checking the chat logs. Was this the correct decision? TL;DR: If I report someone and another person breaks the rules, will they receive punishment too, or do I have to report individually?

I feel like this man will be valuable to us. He's new and doesn't wear 3.0. He shows intelligence.

Don't try to use the report system. It's not useful anymore and it's pretty crap.

@Link I also believe that it could be slightly more efficient.

As far as I know, you only need to report one person and explain more in the "comment" section of the report telling what happened and who did what.

@Amiably Even though it takes "48 hours" it still will probably get the offender banned.

I'm a part of the moderation team that deals with abuse reports, assets, and many other things sitewide and I can confirm that all abuse reports are reviewed by us so sending them in when someone breaks the rules is definitely worthwhile.
To answer your question, Dippu, just reporting one of the people involved was fine. When people are reported in-game we are sent a copy of the chatlog to refer to. Anyone who was breaking the rules will receive any necessary moderation action against their account.
This is also why people should never worry about false reporting. We never delete something or moderate someone just because it was reported. We look at the behavior or content that was reported, as well as the context it's in so that anyone who was breaking the rules gets any necessary moderation taken against their account while anyone who was not breaking the rules would not get moderated. |
