Prepare to read a long story about my life in the clan world of ROBLOX, and my current situation as of 11/3/15.
Since 2011, I've been trying to make a clan that is actually relevant by some means(relevant as in, fairly well known and successful.)
I may have had this with IH during it's prime, but that didn't last long and it was inevitably doomed to fail.
Basing off of the opinions of those around me, I could say that I am a fairly good leader in terms of directing the group and keeping it active. My many weak points, however, always seem to drag my clans to the bottom of the clan community totem pole.
I had my hopes up for Excalibur Imperium to make my goals after over four years of failed attempts. At first it looked good, but now it's turning grim.
http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=175915880 -- This is my dream clan, what I wish Excalibur Imperium will be like one day.
I'm exponentially poorer than any other leader you'll find in terms of ROBUX. I could say that I have SOME connections, but none that are substantial. Development is always a huge fault with my clans, using tech that would be good around the time of 2013 or earlier. The biggest fault, however, that makes everything else look like pennies and dimes is the process of recruiting. This has never, ever worked out well for me.
I consider it good if one of my clans gets over ten attendees to a training. IH had over a thousand members but had this same issue. Why does it happen? How can it be fixed?
Honestly, at this point in time, I'm beginning to lose hope. So, with that said, I turn to you, C&G, for advice or help in this seemingly endless endeavor to accomplish the clan of my dreams on ROBLOX. I'm forever grateful for anything that anybody can do at this point, no matter how little. Every little bit counts; something that few in today's world can truly understand.
Thanks for reading-- to the few that I'd imagine did.

You need to create a good center.
Have some friends join, recruit others, get friends from swordfighters, cool HR's.
You need to have a good rep with helping clans, etc.
Good luck, I would help but my only clan was BHB and now I don't have it anymore and basically quit |

I already have a few close friends at the core of the group but they seem to be losing hope even faster than I am.

I'm not a wealthy person anymore, however I haven't really tried to be prior to being perm banned. I also cut all my connections over a year or two ago with about one or two people left, I simply operate under the radar. I also lack major developers, especially scripters, our buildings are whatever, although due to our genre/time period, it isn't a big deal. Recruiting is another easy step.
Now, I've been leading for over roughly 5-6 years, I've been dedicated to my current clan Cryonix Empire, which has been around for 4 years, I lost it a while back which is a long story I won't explain, however it has always been my favorite clan and what I consider an achievement. The achievement wasn't just the member count, activity, or anything like that, but it was the foundation of building a 'group/crew' of what I call 'loyalist.'
Since I've lead Cryonix Empire, I've gained roughly over 50 followers who have followed me for over a year, some for two, some for three, some for four, and it goes on. Although now that time has passed, most of these people have quit and I've gone inactive and haven't focused on getting my clan started a ton.
However, to sum up what I'm saying, it's simply to build foundation with your members and they'll follow you as long as you lead correctly. Do not thing this simply means be nice to them and such, it simply means make them want to follow you and loyal to you.
When you have built a small group of loyalist, for example, 5 or 10 of them, that's the start, you then work with them and keep gaining more loyalist. A reminder that loyalist are not average members. These loyalist or members in general, those who work with you look for a leader, which in this case is you. You need to show them the path to what they need to do to furtherly expand your influence.
This can mean many things, it can simply be you somehow getting them to invite friends, recruit for you or with you, come to events constantly, the idea is, a small 'community' that you get the chance to build up can make the difference between an empty future and a bright future.
This combines with recruiting in many ways, if you understand what I've said, you'll get many answers. Do not be eager to get 1,000 or 2,000 members, as you build your community of loyalist and members in general the influence grows and if you continue the path and focus on improving any flaws, the system can keep on going as long as you do what you need to do.
What I've said here is up to you to read and work with, it may even seem like a generic answer, however back in the day I consider myself a great leader, it wasn't just me which is another point, I started my community with my first ever clan, it then continued and it grew. A community can last forever if you lay foundation for the new generation once the old one is gone, it's a cycle really. I hope I helped someone. Let me also be clear that this does not mean that your group will be successful to the vision you wish, however for me personally, I reached my goals long ago. |

Tasha, that was moving. Believe it or not, I read the whole thing.
The "loyalist" group you speak of for me never seems to grow-- it always remains stagnant. I may have unintentionally achieved this back in the time of IH, but I'd be lucky if even five people from that community still played.

TL;DR there's your problem. Fix it.
The suggestion about a recruitment/training center + fort was also a good one. |

Impossible for me to fix that, as I stated in the thread because I have no resources.

You
have
OBC
Say you knew how to do basic building, so you only need 1000 Robux to get this center done (guns, etc.)
That's 17 days.
Assuming you're going to pay 5000+ robux for the entire thing to be done (probably not going to be the case) it'll still only be ~84 days. |

If you currently have friends and any active members that are with you, then that's the start to your group. You simply go from there, the way it grows is, you need to constantly just be recruiting and expand the group. It usually starts from the bottom, you should try actually recruiting in-game. I do not mean the Recruitment Plaza, if you're a gun group, try some gun games, if you're a sword group, start in sword games.
By recruiting in-game, it doesn't just mean join a server and ask them to join the group, you play a few minutes, you look for potential people who meet your requirements, this doesn't mean not recruiting new players or talkative players, it means choosing between certain people. I can't tell you specifically on certain people, those are choices you need to make and you need to develop your mind to read people, such as people who are rude for example and just don't belong.
The idea is, you basically make a 'friend.' They do not need to be a 'real friend,' however by bonding with them, even slightly, you may have yourself a new member. I've constantly done this and achieve tons of members off this simple process. A lot of times they are pretty dedicated the first few days, now the first few days when a member joins, it's important you make them want to stay.
Once you've recruited for example, 10 people in one day and you get them situated and explain whatever they ask and such, you go from there. The process is a ton faster and progresses quicker if you have members with you (that represent themselves in the same fashion as you do). These loyalist, if they're high ranks, not high ranks, it doesn't matter, you need to develop them, that's your job as a leader.
Now, this process does not work if you simply do it once a week then let the active people who join die out, it's like restarting 30 times over. You need to make sure you have a specific date where you know it's time to make a change and get the group started. You can also try manually messaging people, however now a days you will only get one member per 100 messages most likely, not to mention they're usually not active or dedicated, which is why the hard but effective approach is better in my opinion.

| Best thing you can do is get a bunch of friends together who will focus the huge majority of their time on Roblox for your Clan. Give them positions based on their ability, and make sure they understand what kind of clan you are trying to create and make sure they reinforce that with the soldiers. Make a nice fort and keep moral up with activities and rewards to the loyal. I know this isn't too detailed, but if you can figure the things listed above out, you will do really well. Good luck! |

If you consider development a big problem, then you're seriously not going to get many places. Technology, especially for your time period as I just saw your group isn't a major thing. Note that it does help to have stuff that troops enjoy and stuff to show off, however if you give good first impressions, a simple baseplate, which I use will be the same thing to members as long as you make the group worth staying in.
Technology is only a big thing to people on C&G who are mostly rcl'ers and such if you have not noticed, the average person on Roblox is not going to look for specific detail, just the actual fun in the group. |
